I will discuss with my fabricator to see what he will want for this, since its non existant it will need to be done from scratch, I cannot say what the cost will be until we see some numbers from the community and then I will discuss with David Pyne.
But as always I will do my best to reduce the cost for all my 3rd gen brothers.

Let the games begin....:-D

Like the 5th gen luders, I can offer this in carbon fiber as well as Fiber Glass, so please indicate by your name what type of material you would be wanting.

The cost will vary from material.

Estimated Costs:

Fiber Glass: $240 + shipping
Carbon Fiber: $310 + shipping

Update: 4-2-14
I have figured out the shipping for each for domestic US orders, all international orders a case by case bases.

Domestic US - $35.00
*(Note: Prices after group buy will go up, and are subject to change with rising increases in material and shipping fees that are associated.)

Estimates until we hit 15+ serious interest.

Order Details:

All sales are final, no refunds, Period. If you cannot complete the group buy and want to sell your place, then work that out with whomever and have them pay me directly for the balance and you workout how to get your refund back.

Payments will be Money Order or can be paypal but all fees will be the burden of the payer.
Please discuss with me via my email how you want to pay because I will need to quote you on the deposit and final payment to get all fees associated with whichever payment you decided on.
*Do not send payment via paypal unless you get a quote from me first!!!
*Warranty - All warranties will processed through me and will be handled case by case basis. All defects in workmanship will be fixed free of charge minus shipping which is not covered.

Once I commence collection of all deposits, no one can back out, if so that person will have a negative feedback and i-trader rating to their membership which will not look good for your reputation on pp.com.

Payment Details:
*Note: This Group Buy will be Money Order Only(this save you the customer paypal fees. If you feel strongly about using paypal, please understand that you are responsible for the extra fees. And all international orders will use paypal only.)

Sean, your thread title says this is a feeler thread, but your list says "Group Buy Members". Are you asking us to commit to a group buy for this, or are just gauging interest?

#6 ·
I am gauging serious interest so its sort of both, but I need to see if there is enough serious ready to buy memebers to help me determine if this will go anywhere.

I am not holding anyone to the actual group buy, but I need to know that should we decide to go forward that we will have demand enough to produce this.

#9 ·
I am not sure yet, but I am estimating close to the same price as the 5th gen visor, which is $200 + shipping for Fiber Glass, $260 + shipping Carbon Fiber.

I will try to keep it to those prices but the numbers on the actual group buy will determine that.

I'm in depending on mounting method. My rear window trim is messed up at the top, and if this will cover that up I'm all in for one in for fiberglass.

I'm in carbon please.

looks great Sean, I'd like one in FG

Hey Sean, once again, a great product for the community. Thank you.... How will it mount?

Sent from AutoGuide.com Free App
It will mount the same way the 5th gen mounts, with double sided tape. I am leaving it up to the customer to make it permanent or temporary.
It will cover the rear window trim.

if you flare it less then I will be in for carbon.

BUT ONLY IF IT DOESN'T FLARE as much as in the picture.

Got a better idea for mounting? ;)

It could theoretically clean up the car's aero by providing a kammback effect but obviously this is a cosmetic part.

#24 ·
I can't tell if you're serious, but tape is absolutely the way to go with something like this. (Can you imagine trying to mold in magnets and keep it affordable? and no, the thin adhesive-backed stuff isn't strong enough.) Good foam tape will hold permanently but you can still remove it with some heat and elbow grease.

#26 ·
^^Agreed. I mean, if you don't trust tape you can always drill holes into your car and use rivets or screws to hold it on. But I'm not going that route. I don't want to give rust any more ways to get in than are already there.

#27 ·
Still not sure if sarcastic.

The thin roll stock magnet we use at my work (sign shop) for temporary vehicle graphics is known to blow off. We tell people they need to remove them before driving on the highway. They get lost all the time.

I have a sunroof rain visor and it does not use tape as a fastener. It has brackets and bolts and it also says Honda on it. :smilejap:

When I saw this I thought it might be cool since the trim-seal around my rear glass is not looking so hawt... but isn't there some other way to fasten it? Let's say I like it and want it to be permanent and weather-proof. What is recommended?

Estimated cost is on the front page.

But for Carbon Fiber roughly $260 + shipping, depending on the amount of buy in's. Since we will need to fabricate from scratch I do not have a solid number but I know it will start around this price.

I will be able to get a better idea when we start reaching 15+ members.

And to address your rigidy concern, we will make them so they are not flimsy pieces by adding more resin where it needs it.
