Well, I decided you guys should know why I never get anything done on my project car. So I decided to make this thread about my money pi-I mean my "daily driver".

It was just about a year ago I picked up this car. I paid I think $2500 for it. Around there. It didn't pass emissions. It needed like, all new shocks and springs, new this, new that. I knew it would be a money pit the moment I saw it. But you know what else I saw in this car. I saw love. I couldn't not buy it.

It remained parked for the majority of the next three or four months until January, I was driving it home from working on it when I get pulled over by mister Po-lees man. Turns out my temp tag I got in November was out of date! Who knew? (I did). They ask to search the car, "Why not," I say, "I got nothing to hide," I say. They found the previous owners marijuana in the fucking car. My luck, right?

Costs me around 2 grand when it's all done with in missed work, legal fees, etc. Luckily I wasn't charged with anything and nothing is going to be on my record. Like it never even happened! Except the money, and missed work.

Anyway, enough about my wonderful car stories. Let's post some pictures!

This is a picture I took when working on the car, just changing the oil and trying to set the base idle. Nothing too serious. One of my main issues was not being able to get the idle set right. Nothing I did worked. One of the reasons I couldn't pass emissions... Well, I found out the previous owners did an auto to manual swap. Left the damn auto ECU in the car. Put a manual ECU in and it did the trick!

One of the more extensive projects I've done to the car is a rear disc swap. It's nice to know that I am one of the very few people with an Accord Wagon with rear discs.

Beyond that, I've done a multitude of different work to it. A bunch of smaller projects. I ran Tein Street Basis coilovers for a bit, however my front ones were blown straight from the factory. I went ahead and swapped the dampers for some KYB AGX ones for the front. Worked a treat. I still use the coilover springs, however, they don't really do much lowering.

I've got solid shifter bushings. I ran a short shifter for a bit, but hated it. Didn't feel good at all and it didn't really shorten the throw that much. I've really attempted to get the car back to stock as much as possible, or unfuck what the previous owners did.

Here's some more pictures.

^ Massive coolant leak. Massive. Huge. Lots of coolant. Stop Leak didn't work.

^ Drove about 20 minutes or so with zero coolant. Fun times.

Oh, and the most recent thing...

I decided to fix a few things on the engine, namely the MASSIVE COOLANT LEAK FROM THE INTAKE MANIFOLD, and I decided it would be easier with the engine out of the car. The motor mounts also needed fixing or replacing, along with a number of other things.

I did the math and decided to just do an H swap. The hardest part is justifying the price of an H22a transmission though :(. I just don't want them Accord gears!

Manual wagon!!1!!

I love it.

I feel that you should have found the P.O.'s weed on your own, but then again, maybe not everyone obsessively cleans a car when they buy it? haha... yeah I know what it's like to buy a car from a tool.

What's it take to get rear discs on there, suspension swap from a higher trim coupe?

That's what the cops said. The car was on damn jack stands for almost three months after I bought it. I was more worried about emissions and getting it tagged (I sold my RELIABLE DD to buy this) than I was about cleaning it.

Actually the disc swap has to be from a different generation of Accord. Cb7/9 Accords never came with rear discs from the factory.

My Wagon is really more Prelude now than Accord. The front calipers and brackets are (from the factory) the same as 4th gen VTEC calipers. Great car. I love it. Handles very well. I bet it could probably keep up with a Prelude, both slightly modified.

Why am I just seeing this now?!? Love these things. Come spring provably gonna be on the look out. Really dislike having a Mazda dd. I need a Honda!!! Might end up settling for an auto though. Not too many 5 speeds up here

I'll take a couple of pictures today before I leave. Can't really get anything done today though. Waiting on parts, and a buddy with a shop press so I don't have to saw all these bushings out.

Dunno if I ever posted this one, too lazy to check. Traction bar installed.

Sorry for the crap pictures. I forgot to take pictures of all the poly bushings I got in today. Pretty much all of them are installed except the rear trailing arm and rear shock mount. Unfortunately, those don't have an aftermarket or OEM replacement. So, I gotta do some custom work for those. That I will make sure to take pictures of.

This is what my backyard looks like now. Two of those cars are mine. Two of them don't have an engine... Hm...

Looking into painting my calipers while I have them off of the car. I want to match the blue valve cover that's going to be on my engine. Anyone know of a good, high temp, maybe wrinkle paint that matches the blue top color?

I think rustoleum has some high temp caliper paint. I believe walmart and pretty much any auto store sells it. When I looked I think they had blue and red. Im not sure about the wrinkle paint but In my opinion I dont think it would make a difference because the wrinkly effect would give dirt and grime a place to sit and collect making it hard to clean... just my .02

I was thinking the same thing. I'm not worried too much on that. I'm really just looking for it to be a close match to the Honda valve cover color.

Doing a bit of work for making a custom shock mount bushing. No poly option is made for this, using a rear lower control arm bushing does work. Kinda. Making it work better.

Yeah, that's how the stock muffler is. Unfortunately that isn't the stock muffler, just a low end factory reproduction. The exhaust tip sits too low and it bugs the shit out of me. I may try to get a buddy to reweld it or the hangers. I dunno.

Fat Four Customs makes a bunch of billet parts for the CB. Could possibly be one of their first radiator mounts they made.
I was thinking that myself, it is similar. I suppose whoever did it had them custom done, which would have been pretty pricey.

So why the hell wouldn't they buy some goddamned lowering springs. It's bad enough that it was stock shocks, but cut spring too? Come on, man, that ain't cool.

Intake manifold is all done! Just gotta do a little bit of work to the fuel rail, and the throttle body.

What should I do to the TB? Polish or wrinkle like the rest of it?

Rear suspension is back on. Sway bar is fully connected now. Stainless brake lines installed. All I need now is brake pads and wheels. Too bad I wasn't able to afford new struts and some new lowering springs :( wasn't able to budget for it. But those'll come later. Oh, and I guess one of the UCA balljoints is being an asshole. But I'll fix it.

Why won't it go?

It looks like it should with a little pry bar usage. Loosen the front and rear mount so the engine will move forward and backward.

Car looks good. Nice progress. Do you have a plain stock mount? or just the ESP mount?

Mine always takes some work to get it to line up. But i'm using the stock mount, and my car was manual from the factory don't know if that matters. Never really read the auto swap stuff because I didn't need it.

Oh, it WILL go. But then the entire engine is cockeyed in the bay. It isn't level, and the bolts don't fit either. The mount is the wrong mount, that's all there is to it. Well, I guess the mount isn't wrong, but the bracket has been modified.

I have a stock mount. For an Accord Trans. Not an m2f4.

Engine is in the car. Had to buy a different mount. Bought it from Innovative this time. Nothing wrong with ESP, but I couldn't wait two months for it this time.

Hopefully I'll get it running tomorrow. I'll check the timing first, install all the belts and accessories, spark plugs, and see if it starts.
