so i searched this site, as well as others, and found SIMILIAR problems, but not the same
and no definitive answers
i just bought an 85 carb'd lude (this is my 7th lude now)
i know tons about 3rd gen's, but very little about 2nd gens, and even less about carb'd 2nd gens
heres my problem.
i came to get the car one night, and it started right away, then it stalled and would not start.
i tried for over an hour,but it would not start
so i come back to edmonton from calgary 2 days later, jump in the car when i get to work, and it starts right away, and keeps running.
so on my way home that night, it stalls in the middle of the 3 busiest lanes in edmonton at rush hour. i manage to push her into an adjacent parking lot, and for 10 minutes she does not want to start. then it miracously starts.
it has only stalled once since, and after a little hesitation it started.
now, to add to this, the car WILL NOT rev about 4000 rpm, and it is very hesitant to go from 3000-4000 rpm.
i can smell gas when pull off the airbox, so its getting fuel
its obviously getting spark cause it runs
what would cause this, and why cant i rev over 4000 rpm
