@Sam91 As someone who’s never replaced an alternator before in their life, any tips or tricks that’s i should keep in mind? I’d really like to do it myself but i’d hate myself if i caused more damage lol
You can go to MustardCats youtube channel were we did a lot of work on this chassis where you will see many videos on this chassis.

Nice video Sam. I even got an anonymous honorable mention for the crank pulley :)

One thing I will say is any time you are working in that area of the engine, it's much easier if you pull the cruise control servo and move it out of the way. Makes getting to the 14mm nut on the power steering tensioner pulley a lot easier. And to get to the 10mm bolt you can go through the driver side headlight opening with a long extension (after flipping up the headlights). See post #293 in the thread below for pics I posted almost 15 years ago LOL.

Yeah I don't know why I didn't remove it back then? Lol. It would've made sense. Oh well.

You definitely saved me. If I didn't find a crank pulley I would've had to get mine rebuilt which would've been expensive and a long time. Thanks again!

You'd need to plug off the vacuum lines if you remove it. I'm not sure if it shares the vacuum circuit with anything else or not. Honestly I'd probably just leave it on there. It's not that difficult to troubleshoot the cruise control system. It's usually the switch on the dash in my experience with these cars.

Of course, I'm glad I was able to help you out!

okay sounds good, and my guess is you’re right about the dash, i think i’ve got a few crossed wires because at the moment my gas light doesn’t come on and instead my check engine lights up when i’m low on gas 😂

I got a sort of noob question for you guys. So Monday I will be hopefully starting the process of taking home a 1991 2.0Si lude if the ground thaws. lol

So I got a question kinda regarding interiors. When I first saw pictures of said car I saw it was all manual inside. Manual windows, mirrors and the like. So I was thinking it was a carbed lude. But I was pleasantly surprised. Its a 2.0Si! But i heard they stopped making carbed ludes in 1990? is that correct? Are all the SI cars power interior and then starting in 90 the 2.0Si and 2.0s cars were manual? Just curious. Most facelift 3rd gens(90-91) it seems like are Si cars and not 2.0si.

Its also has the gray interior and doesn't have the fancy seats like my 91 alb has. And it is white with the black moulding on the outside.

Edit: I also forgot it also has the fog light delete covers as well.

Thanks guys Again I am just curious and like to learn as much as I can!

Basically, for the US market, the 88/89 models had 2.0 S and 2.0 Si models. The 2.0 S was SOHC carb'd (b20a3), had manual windows and mirrors and no fog lights. The 2.0 Si was fuel injected (b20a5) and had power windows and mirrors and fog lights were standard. The S came with different seats than the Si. For 1990 models they kept the carb'd engine and also added the 2.1 liter b21a1. In 1991 they did away with the carb'd engine and the 2.0 Si became the bottom model, which means it came standard with the b20a5 engine and manual windows and mirrors, no fog lights. The Si (no designation for engine displacement) came standard with the b21a1 engine and power windows/mirrors and fog lights. These also had different interiors. On the Si models you could also opt for either ALB or 4ws. On all 3rd gens you could pick different interior colors like blue, tan, grey and black, depending on exterior color.

There are lots of other differences too. Here's a link to different 3rd gen brochures...

Shows what I get for trying to go on memory. I've updated my original post LOL.

That is what I thought. But after doing some research it looks like some 90-91 2.0si could've been optioned with fog lights and possibly power interiors? Also my computer at work shows the 2.0s still being a option in 1990. Maybe you could special order different options?

Yeah, that's right. I updated my post to say that the carb'd engine was still available on '90 models. As far as the power options, I listed what was standard on those models. I don't have the time or energy to post all the possible configurations that were available, which is why I included the link to MustardCat's website, prelude3g.com. Looks like the link doesn't take you to the right page though lol. But if you go to the documentation tab you can click on "BROCHURES" under the "SECTIONS:" section to see sales brochures for USDM 88, 89, and 90 models along with brochures for UKDM and JDM INX models.

Lol. You're good. No problem. His website is pretty nice. I have been on it a lot. I have a, I think 89 brochure laying around somewhere I will have to look at.

Hi Gents! Just picked up an 89 Lude down here in Australia for my first project car, been getting really familiar with the engine bay haha! Currently in the process of replacing all the hoses and vacuum lines, was wondering if there was a specific kind of hose I needed for the hose between the evap canister and the throttle body? Also curious about inner diameter sizes for both the vacuum and coolant hoses, if anyone's got those numbers off the top of their head. Cheers!

I've always used hondapartsnow.com when looking for 3rd gen parts. I don't know which hoses are still available from them for sure but you should be able to get part numbers from that website. You might have to just do some measuring on your own and check with local parts stores to see what they have that might work for you. My local NAPA auto parts store lets me sort through what they have as far as hoses go to see if there's something I can make work for me. If not they sell bulk hose as well that I've been able to make work for most things.

I got an '86-87 integra front lip for my 1989 prelude, the front bolt holes match up to the oem bumper but there's no holes on the side of the bumper. the sides also seem a little narrow on the lip compared to the bumper. do I need to drill holes into the bottom of the bumper? do I need to mold the side of the lip to the curve of the bumper

The integra lip is close but does not line up, so in order to use it, you will have bite the bullet and use self tapping scews and drill into these none existant front bumper covers(not recommended)

Or you can bite the bigger bullet and get my Front lip kit and bolt up to our factory holes that use metal clips with bolts.

What's the point of this sticky? Aren't noobs who sign up allowed to start their own thread? Pointless stickies like this have people stop reading the rest of the list of stickies and skip straight to the latest threads. In this case they'll skip the FAQ sticky and then ask a FAQ.

Why is S4 blinking.
