Euro R Cams Vs Type S Cams

Ok i have done my searching and i have read up on this in various places. so my final question for you guys is which one is better. I know that theyy are very similiar. I am going NA all the way...
Also i need to know how to identify the two different sets of Cams.. What markings( stampings) do i look for on the cams to tell the difference.

Last but not lease i have someone who may be a potential seller.. They say that the types s cams are the same one that are found in the F20b engine which comes from a jdm sir-t. Is it me or is that B.S.
Sorry ppl but i need yall help on this one.

Looking to go full catback intake and exhast real soon.

as far as the cams go i also heard that the type-s are the same as the f20b engine. the only way i know how to tell the difference is measuring the lobes with a micrometer. this is why i am very skeptical about buying "type-s" cams from a second hand seller. many people think that they have type-s cams because they have jdm h22 which is incorrect. to many scammers and ignorant people. hell i have come across people who still think the type sh has 220hp. its terrible.

so the only difference between the h22a and h22a S is that the S is ported from the factory? i'm looking into h22s because i'm savin up this summer to possibly get one.
yes

Fastkill.....i would imagine that there is a part number on the ends of the cams. From what i have read the Euro R and Type S share the same head. Their intakes and exhausts are different.

I just wanted to know i don;t wanna go buy types s pistons and get ripped off because they are actually stock usdm ones. does anyone know what the markings are?

Actually, wouldn't a 4th gen H22A1 be the best choice here as its cheaper and has a closed deck? Plus many come with LSD trannies and are readily available in the U.S. Yes, I realize the head is not as good as A or A4, but once again, would that really matter if you're rebuilding? Besides, you could always use a 5g head if it really mattered. It just seems that if you're going turbo, it would be better to use a closed deck and have a bit more strength w/o having to spend the extra cash on getting a block guard or sleeves. Maybe that's all wrong and stupid, I dunno, just makes sense to me.

closed deck isnt a better block because of cooling issues (hence the reason honda changed to the A4) now add a turbo. if you do lsd i would recommend getting a quaife because you have no parts here for the Euro or JDM LSD tranny and they are a bitch to get. another thing is you'll never have enough boost to blow sleeves whether you're open deck or closed deck. you definately dont want the Type S because it is ATTS and not LSD.

i remember back in 2007 when i was a noob to the h22...and blake deffinatly put me in my place..hahaha...after that i read every thread blake made and learned a ton...the thread is around here somewhere....if you have questions about the h22 or h23 message blake first b4 making a thread because then you will get a bunch of misleading oppinions...
