hi, i read how to test your VSS, so last night i did it, and the write-up said to take the wire clip off and test the wires in an order: black, yellow, white/blue, so i did, the black terminal didn't work, it said that should be it, but i tested the yellow terminal just to check and it was working, then the blue/white terminal wasn't. My speedo is not working and this is why i'm trying to figure out if the VSS is the culprit, my question: is there any better way to know/anything else that could make my speedo not work?(checked fuses also) any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Just so you know, the VSS electronic unit is one of the main partst to on the 90-91 tranny's.

Try reading this thread to help you out. And read the Sticky's at the top there are many write ups in there and useful threads.

And Welcome to PP.com

63. Fix for 90-91 VSS Speedometer -
Speedometer Issue.

This was in the Performance Upgrade Inventory thread in the FAQ's at the top. Always go there first to look for the most common issues.

And another very informative and useful thread is this one: www.prelude3g.com

Been drinking Sean? or just tired? I think what he was trying to say is the vss failing is common. And I too welcome you to the site! Sounds like your off to a good start by either searching or using the online factory shop manual. Check out my oddball and large tool thread for the size of the singular bolt that takes off the entire speed sensor mechanical and electrical. If you choose to swap to new or used parts. Some people say it isn't too bad I say its rather of a bitch to get out.

Those things die constantly, as do the civic flavor, and to a lesser extent the accord flavor.
Generally it's the sensor pickups that eat it, not a lot you can do about it beyond replacing 'em.
