Trunk Floor

1. There's always water in my spare tire well, I KNOW that it is NOT the sunroof drains because I have checked them, and they are 100% clear. I cant think of anywhere else that is leaking. If I take one of the rubber grommets on the trunk floor out (and leave it out), will water get in really easily?

2. My current floor covering (the wooden cardboard, halfassed MDF shit) is all warped, and gross and pretty much does nothing and makes it impossible to transport anything in my car. What is the best way to go about making a new floor. I was thinking 1/2 inch MDF, tracing a pattern onto some cardboard and cutting the wood out and putting that over just the spare tire (same as what the stock one covers). Or would it be best to Make an ENTIRE floor.

It's probably your tail light. There is a foam gasket between the light and the body of the car. The foam gets dry and then then water runs down the back windshield, down the trunk grooves and right onto the tail light and then into your trunk.
It's part #5 here if you have a '90 or '91

I am experiencing the same problem at the moment .........

Or you can seal the tail lights from the outside with a silicone sealer as indicated below. The joint between the upper and lower lenses seems to be the one that most commonly leaks. Take the inside cover off the tail lights and you will probably find some water at least on one side. This is a common problem for these cars. Use masking tape to keep things neat.

When i had that gaping hole in my quarter panel.. lots of water would enter.. no wonder its so humid inside my car. Whats a good idea to take out all the humidity? I was thinking about a dehumidifier but i dont know anyone who has one anymore.
Are you talking about those JDM air cleaner things that sat above the back seat? If so, then good luck! And if you do find it would you mind going ahead and picking up every little JDM piece you can get for me? Thanks

Oh and if anyone else feels froggy, I extend that offer to everyone (you know, giving me JDM goodies!)

As for the floor board I just bought a piece of MDF and cut it to fit the entire level part of the floor. Then I cut it in half and put a hinge on it so I could access my tire without removing my sub box. Then I just sprayed it down with 3M spray adhesive and covered it in black cloth.

what are u talking about? Do you know what a humidifier is? Does things you put water in when the air is dry and it humidifies a room or something.. a dehumidifier is the opposite.. it take water out of the air.
The thing in the JDM YO ludes is an air freshener.. not at all the same thing.

hey well looky here.. i already mentioned that :D
Its raining all the time here right now.. leaving my car outside the driveway with everything open for 2 days isnt such the best idea either.. Maybe if i jus stuck those little heaters inside it and had the doors and trunk open..

is the hole fixed? that's what i was referring to. the water should dry up in a few days on its own with the windows cracked.

you're a difficult somebody...

i understand that you had a hole and that it leak. i also understand that you fixed THAT hole.

what i'm asking is, now that you have fixed that hole, is there any MORE water coming in? the car should have dried out in a week if there was no more water being introduced. If it's been a week or two and your car is still just as humid as it was before, then you have another leak to fix. THAT's what i'm trying to say.

now, are you sure there's no more water coming into the car?
