whats the highest mph on the stock preludes?

i know for a fact 139 isn't right. unless they tested a car with a speed limiter in the ecu...

it will hit 152 mph in 5th gear as it bounces off the limiter at about 7800-8000 rpms if you are going down a decline. 135 is my top speed, could have done more but I was already risking a lot at 135.

i know its more then 150 cuz i got a video of a prelude doing 150. the needle actually goes past 150 but the needle also goes past the redline..

i would guess its +/- 5 mph at 150 on the speedo. when i passed 150 my car was basically stock and it got there without too much trouble. i didnt have to go downhill or anything like that to do it. since i've been turboed i've gotten to 145 and did that easily. i just didnt want to stay in 5th gear boost too long.

The most I've hit was 130mph...racing a WRX on the highway. My heart was still beating hard 20 mins after i raced him. Such an adrenaline rush going that fast. Would never do it again though...too risky(getting pulled over....or crashing)
you say that now, it will happen again. i said i would never do it again and i have over and over again. i guess i'm just stupid and will learn my lesson one day

the thing is that you get there a **** of alot faster and that means you arent at that speed as long as someone with a stock lude.....you can get up to 150 and get back down to speed by the time a stock lude hits 150

god damn thats fast the most ive hit is 110 and thats on my moms accord.

but why are people saying 5th gear im talking bout autos.

so is it safe to say that my top speed (with aem v2) is 140mph?
Well, you never mentioned autos specifically.

With an autotragic it's a fuzzy line. You're geared longer and lose a lot of torque, so auto ludes don't have the pull to get to their gear-limited top speed. 140 sounds optimistic for a stock auto lude.

H22A's and A4's are typically limited around 150 mph by a combination of drag and rpm limit (fuel cut). Honda knew what they were doing when they designed our 5 speed trannies...the power is JUST enough to redline 5th gear and no more stock.
