yah for 260 you can get a hi flow cat and 2.25 pipe run, that would be sick. You have stock muffler right now?

 

$260 included everything. Around here, to get a cat installed is at least $80 and that's if you know someone. On my accord, it cost me $380 for a full cat. So, even if I brought the $50 cat, I would still have to pay $80 for the install then $80 for the inspection. I would make out cheaper but not that much. So, I went on had the mechanic do the job and she passed inspection.

 

here for a stock cat installed is 20 bucks. well not a OEM cat. they just cut out your old one and installed the proper one their computer tells them fits your car.

by the way can you install two cats on our cars?

so how does it go on if you dont weld it? the flanges fit our cars? and then what about the rest of the exhaust, i thought that had to be welded to the other side of the cat.

The stock cat is a bolt on cat. Not welded into the exhaust. Most muffler shops weld them in because they can use a universal converter when they do this. Its also much cheaper than buying a direct fit cat.

Preludegofast13- I hope you're kidding about that power gain. I seriously doubt that a high flow cat would give you 2-3 more horsepower, let alone 10.

random tech blows.. i had one.. biggest waste of money i ever spent on my car..
the 10hp you picked up was all in yer head
so please, let's refrain from giving people false hp claims..

3gp, i dunno what shop costs are where your from..
but.. i bought a carsound (magnaflow) cat from ebay for 50 bux and took it to an exhaust shop..
they charged me 30 bucks to weld it on..
i'd try shopping around before handing your car over to the shop you took it to

 

Can this be true, Even if my car runs great, Does not over heat or spurter or cough or laugh and Has a deep howl to it when I step on the gas. That what the machine told me. Now I have to go back tommrow and plop down $260 for a new one. Someone please give me some advice......

What machine told you? What part of the test did it fail? Don't go throwing parts at it - Find out what it needs!

Yeah, you might want to spend $150.00 or so on a part that might or might not fix the problem. Sounds like a GOOD idea! Does everyone around here like to waste money by throwing parts until they find the one that fixes the problem?

if she still has the original cat, it needs to be changed anyway..

and usually, when you can't properly diagnose a problem (or when there's similar symptoms for different problems), you fix'em one at a time..
