I've got the A/C compressor completely unmounted from the mounts.......but now I can't get it out! There is no space big enough between the suspension, engine bay, and engine to get it out. How do I remove the bracket that the A/C compressor was mounted on? I have managed to get my P/S pump off and the bracket it was mounted on, but I can't find any more bolts that are holding the A/C bracket on other than the one that's really close to the exhaust manifold.

ok for the bracket, the bolts are behind the compressor. do u have all visible bolts out? i think theres one at the back of the compressor by the block, feel around with ur finger and see if theres one there, im not 2 sure. but if u got all visible bolts out then it could just be lodged(i mean its been there for 20yrs) so just take a pry bar and wedge it in between the bracket and comp and give it a few tugs, i hope u already got ur rad out, its much easier

Well sorry, but I've never actually owned a car that's....ya know....decent. I have never once in my life owned a car that had a working A/C, CD player, and decent paint.

But I'm considering keeping my lude much more now....because I thought there was something really wrong with it. There was a terrible noise comming from the engine bay.......it turned out to be the A/C compressor hanging in there by one bolt. So now I don't feel so bad about the car..........so I need help getting this thing out so I WILL want to keep the car, because right now it's making tons of noise and sounds like crap.

Well after finally getting the bracket out.......which was next to impossible I spent about an hour trying to figure out how to get the thing out of the engine bay. No room from top, no room from bottom. Apparently Honda did not make them to ever be changed with the engine in the bay. Well finally after throwing my back out I got so angry I did a "hulk" and just ripped it out with all of my strength. I hurt myself, bent a few things, ripped a few wires....but when I finally got it out I must have thrown it 25 feet. Here's my suggestion.......if you're A/C doesn't work......just leave it in!

But it was surprisingly heavy and I know I've gotten rid of at least another 10 pounds of crap I don't need.

well i just got home and to read this is kinda shitty.. when i took my a/c crap out i unbolted the rad from the supportmoved it out of the way and took the compressor out from the front.the bracket has either 4 or 6 bolts going into the block. I think it was last january when i finally got around to doing it, but that's the short of how to get it out.
