Flip up headlights only sometimes work.

Hello, I have a rather peculiar head light issue. Sometimes when I flip the switch for headlights, they go up, and work fine. They usually will not go down after that, however. Then I park and turn the car off. I go outside the next morning to see my headlights are now down.
This happens rarely and they usually don't go up on their own.
Clues-
Dimmer relay clicks under hood
Control relay for lights click under glove box
I believe the 2 relays click by each motor, at least one does.

This happened after I took out my dash to replace heater core.
Any ideas? Why does the dimmer switch click as well, this made me wonder...
Thanks!!!!

if it worked fine before you took out your dash then it could be anything from a loose or missing ground, to a internally fractured wire.

1st thing i would do is replace all related fuese with new ones EVEN IF THEY LOOK GOOD.
2ndly replace or repair actual switch.

i had an issue where i had to play with my headlight switch to make the park lights stay on but my headlights would always come on. i took apart my headlight switch and cleaned all the contacts and put some fresh grease in there.

i also did a local friends 90 cb7 earlier that week because his headlights wouldnt come on at all. his headlight switch was melted internally so we replaced it.

I have the same issue, however they turn of and on fine. When im driving if i hit a big bump or even shut my door they will lower. Lights stay on they just flip down and wont flip back up. This might be an easy fix. But i am no mechanic or technician. Seriously debating buying the cars for dummies book.

Yeah i manually cranked them up, drove then parked. Later that night I go to my car and they cranked down on their own. Annoying. I know a good few about cars, but this issue has me stumped.
I am really confused why a dimmer relay clicks when I try to flip them up...
