don't think you can man.... at least i have never heard of anybody ever removing one...

 

wow u must want that car mint.....i cant see why u could just peel or sand it down and use a marker or some kind of stuff on it....i mean really lol?

shit i wish that was my biggest concern.....

 

lol its SOOO easy. the chrome piece just screws out. you can buy them new from anywhere or get them from an auto car that has a barely used ebrake. i used adjustable pliers and some electrical tape to get mine out, and then i just tightened the new one with my hand as tight as i could and used the pliers lighty to try and snug it up.

 

awesome thanks man! I picked up one from Honda, so Im all set. I know its not a big deal to some but Im weird like that I guess, i replaced my worn out rubber pedal covers with oem ones too, is that weird?? lol

 

nah man, im the same way. im rocking new oem pedal covers and an almost new ebrake chrome piece. lol.

Haha, how bout it? I'm driving around with messed up synchros, skipping second gear whenever I can.

 

well i put the new ebrake button on, to bad I cant screw it all the way on, so it sticks out a bit. They must have had some cool tool when they installed them at the factory.

 

Wrap just the tip up in electrical tape, then use some locking vice grips to grab it, then spin. Tadaa.

 

I worry bout the little things to so ya. I'll prob get a new brake and everything eventually for the project car.

 

Wow, kudos for the detail there!! I'm playing around with everything on the car but never bothered with the e-brake button. Not that the e-brake really works that well though LOL

But as the others say, I wish things like that were the sorta things I worried about!!

 

anyone know if that chrome piece on the shift boot is available?

 

it comes with the boot from honda. you cant get just the chrome piece.

where did you huys order the e button from? ive looked everywhere for one and i couldnt find one.

 

I put some electrical tape on it and screwed it down some more with pliers, I didnt go all the way though but it looks alot better than it did just hand tight. You can purchase this and almost any other OEM parts of hondaautomotiveparts.com

 

they are bull. the part is like 2 bucks and they wanted almost 20 bucks to ship it! its stupid.

nah, actually i took mine out of my auto 93 ebrake. since its the same part and my car used to be auto, the button was near perfect, so i just switched them. i did scratch it a bit but ill replace it again someday. most people wont see it but me.

but yes, for future reference, most hondas use the same part..most likely just by looking at it you could tell. i know my moms 98 accord has the same part.

 

Ok here are some pics, as you can see it sticks out further than the original one, but I will forget about it eventually.

Very nice! I actually hate how in the button is stock, my thumb gets pinched inbetween the button and the handle and it hurts like a bitch! On the supra it sticks out more like yours and I love it!!

 

Saw this thread and never thought about it just unscrewing. Mine looked like crap so I took it out and filed all the old chipped chrome off. I had some "chrome" spraypaint and gave it a couple coats. Certainly makes the interior look better.

 

I'm glad we inspired you! lol Its those little details that help out when it comes to the interior.
