Hey guys I was wondering if anyone can help me figure out why my fuel/temp gauges and also the clock start flashing on and off really quickly after a bit of driving. This just started happening after i changed my fuel pump, I don’t know if it has anything to do with that but also before the flashing the gauges would also turn off and on again and give wrong reading of my gas and temp or just mark a few notches ahead of my actual gas (before changing fuel pump). I’m sort of new to mechanic things as I’m trying to learn more so to electrical problems if that’s my issue. Thanks

Brandon -- you may want to check your connections to see if they are snug. The capacitors and resistors fail and the solder is old and pulls away from the contacts. This is also true on the Speedo/Tach gauges. I had my speedo/tach repaired by a local shop and had my fuel/temp gauges reapired by Justin and Sebastian.

There are a couple of guys in the FaceBook HONDA PRELUDE group who repair the gauges using new computer boards reverse engineered by one of them. If you are in the US, the person to contact would be Justin Miller at Laurel Highlands Laser; in the rest of the world, the person to contact is Sebastian Wehner, who did the reverse engineering. You can get in touch with Justin Miller, who is a really good guy and he usually can tell you if he believes your issue is one he can repair.

The repair service is usually much less expensive than obtaining a "new" used one from e-Bay and it actually has new parts when you get your gauge back.
