OK, i got the tranny in my car now but it seems to be having trouble starting, ive just recently changed the oil, plugs, wires, coil, but my main question is this when i turn my key up one spot right before you turn the key to start it am i supposed to hear my fuel pump? the reason i ask this is because before i used to be able to hear it i remember cuz it was crazy loud, now i dont hear anything when i turn the key, could this possibly be my problem? or somethin to do with the relay since i took my battery out? any help would really be great. oh yeah when i tried it the first couple of times it was turning over a little bit but when i stepped the pedal it would die.

So i went out and sprayed some carb start crap on the intake screens and the vehicle runs for a little while, i also pulled the hoses on both sides of the fuel filter under the hood and nothing no gas, now this leads me to think that the pump is not working moslty because i used to be able to hear it clicking really fast and then gradually slowing down but now when i turn the key nothing, so how can i check that the fuel pump relay is working, before i check the fuel pump, also the car had been sitting

--->First of all i love this site it helps soo much, secondly i think im getting real close to what my problem is, i did the fuel pump relay bypass bit basically i undid the two bolt that held the fuel pump up underneath my car, then i stripped the yellow striped wire a bit the i ran a wire from the positive post to the little bare spot,!!!!!!!!, the fuel pump started up and began pumping continously, i start the car with the wire still attached and the pump goes the car runs everything is peachy, but then i take the wire off the ghetto connection and my car begins to die again, now i would only assume that when i ran the wire my pump was on and functional, when i remopve the wire no more power, no more pumping, OK now i ask does this have to do with the relay? my car was towed recently and it was given a couple of pretty good jerks, almost similiar collision, as if i were to be bumped, would this turn my relay off? IF so how can i get the relay going so that my pump can get power?

sometimes i have the same problem.
when u turn key to +15A fuel pump pumps up some start fuel/pressure. it pumps just as long as ECU lamp is on. when lamp goes down pump stops and u ready for start.
when mine dont pump start fuel, i usualy hit a few times to fuse/wire region (under the steering wheel on left side) and it starts to work. i assume there is a bad contact to some relay or something. however i never have located wich blackbox or relay is responsible for this.

and it happens more offen when batery is low

and when u locat that damn relay or bbox who is responsible for dis, dont forget to reply info, good luck

the simplified shematic that works would be something like dis

only no ideas where is a wire who produces +12V only when car starts

just had a chat with an electric.
solution 1:
connect fuel pump through simple relay to batery (relay controles by ignition wire). pump will start when u turn key.
solution 2:
as i drawed. that "+12V when car runs" wire is "generator charge" wire. it produves +12V when generator charges- it means when car runs.
in this way fuel will pump just the way it was predicted by honda.

well..

found my problem, i guess when i was laying down my speaker wires i ripped out this old one going along my drivers side and i guess that some bozo had already had my relay bypassed with that wire to the fuse box, SO i just connected the wire to my heater control +12v and it turns on when the car starts just like it should but i think the pump will just keep going if i leave in in the ready to start position, last nite when i was hot wireing my fuel pump gas came out the bloody carbs and on to my K&N :-x also i guess the just cut the wires cuz they were cheap for a new relay, neways it time for some sweet 5 speed action!, (recently ditched my AutoCrapBox)
