OK guys I have done a decent amount of research on this topic and can't decide what to do or buy.
So the service manual says use 400 grit and hone at a 60 degree angle. OK. Cool. The issue is do i use a 3 arm hone or a dingle ball hone? The pic in the service manual shows a 3 arm from what I can tell. My grandpa has a few of those but no 400 grit stones. The only 400 grit 3 arm stones I found are $8 on Amazon and have crappy reviews. I might have to buy 2 sets to get the block done which isn't an issue.
Or should I use a dingle ball and spend like $60 on one.
Just curious what you guys think. The engine had 195-200 psi on all 4 and has newer rings and the walls feel and look decent. And since the rebuild kit comes with new rings might as well run them.
Thanks Sam!
