exhaust resonator removal??

before someone runs their mouth, i did search....i do know how to do that, thanks, but i was unlucky with my results.

basically, i am trying to find out if anyone has removed their exhaust resonator, and if not maybe, some opinions upon doing so. i would like for my car to have just a little more exhaust note, without going with an aftermarket exhaust. i think that if i remove the resonator (or pre-muffler if there is one) i would get a little more tone. i can probably have the shop that did my exhaust on my 3rd gen do it for like $40 bucks or so.

so whatcha think? does anyone have any thoughts?

I had my resonator taken off. Now I have 2" piping going from the cat back to my stock muffler. Everyone always ask me what type of exhaust I have, and they never believe me when I say I have a stock exhaust....I'll take some pics of it when the Sun comes back out tomorrow

straight, well how does it sound?

depends on what you consider rice, i think a 6" muffler tip bulging out the backside of a car is rice...

i dont need it to be faster. i would like it to be a little louder but not as aoud as an aftermarket....

i just want to know if it would sound good.
long long long time ago with my old lude, i had a muffler and removed the resonator.....it was louder than my current exhaust and vibrated the whole car. to say the least, i hated it and it sounded god aweful.

No!!, how could it possibly qualify as rice if you have a stock exhaust?

It sounds alright. When I first had it done, it sounded like crap, expecially at high rpms, but I guess now that I've had some carb built up in it, it's toned it down a bit, and sounds decent. I'd say it almost sounds like an Eclipse stock exhaust. Not real loud and annoying like most aftermarket exhaust you hear, but a mellow tone....The only reason I did it was cause when I first bought my car, it had an ugly ass dual exhaust on it. Taking that crap off was the first mod I did to my car
