94 Accord Side Skirts & Lips w/ Prelude Mud Flaps - NEW PICS

UPDATED WITH MORE PICS 7-7-2010

There have been a lot of posts about the Accord Side Skirts lately so I finally decided to post my pics of how I did mine. I know there are other how to's on here but I never did like the way they stuck out so I tucked my up onto the rocker panel and made them meet up cleanly with the mud flap. There have been a few of you (2nd One) waiting for me to post these but I had originally wanted to wait unitl I was finished with the car so I could get pictures from better angles than the ones limited by my over stuffed garage. Anyhow here it goes.

I started from the back and worked my way forward. The factory OEM 94 Accord EX 4 dr sideskirt was used and all pictures are off the passenger side (I wish I could have photod the drivers side since I did this side first the drivers side turned out a little nicer with some sharper/closer lines). Red lines annotate a cut. All screws were stainless and washers were used on the bottom and all screws were sealed with silicone. I cut the skirt with a pnuematic cut off wheel. Made a mess but it cut well and fast while giving me good control. Most of the cuts are at odd angles so there is a lot of going back and forth on and off the car to get it right. I didn't want to mess my skirts up. I did this about nine months ago and it took me about 3-4 hours to do both sides. The skirts are painted with Krylon Semi Flat black paint.

And here we go from the back

The skirt kind of wedges unto the rocker panel and is screwed from the bottom. The door being shut pretty much holds the top. It is pinched on there pretty well even with the door open. You will see what I am talking about once you start fitting it. When in place on the rocker there is a white stripe between the skirt and the sill plate. I did not like the way it looked so I painted it the same color as the skirt.

The factory edge continues towards the front of the car until it meets with the front fender.

Here are some more complete shots of the skirts installed on the car. This is just about as crooked as I can get my car in the garage. If you look at the pictures closely you will see why I don't want to push it out of the garage as it would be a pain in the ass to get it back in. It also kind of sucks that the sun/shadow is making a stripe down the middle. It is also kind of hard to picture how it will look on the ground with the K-Sports on. As soon as I get the work done I will get it outside and take some better ones but this will have to do for now.

Unfortunately no I do not and I am away from home right now. This is one of the reasons I wanted to wait to do this post. I will definately get some side shots the next time I am home.

Only thing I don't like about this method is it doesn't really lower the sides at all, it just covers the stock rocker panels. Clean install though
Danny you are definately right about that. It gives the appearance of being a little lower just the way they change the rockers lines and wrap over but the other way definately gets them closer to the ground.

Looks really cool.....but what about the jacking points on the sill? Maybe you could cut notches for them.
The plastic skirt is right against the jacking points so I just put the jack right on the plastic. That plastic is pretty durable and if it does wear a hole there then it is where I need one anyway.

The car is in my garage and you can see in the one picture in the reflection how close it is to the cabinets in there. I can't get far enough way from it to get a good picture from the side. As long as it in the garge I can only get the angles I have. When I get home in a couple of months I will get it outside and take a pic for you guys.

When you get your skirts they will be too long regardless. Cut off the exta on both of them and jam them up on the rocker and close the door. That way you can decide if you like the look before you cut your skirts up. I love the way it looks but like Danny said it doesn't go as low to the ground as the other way.

Is the 2 door skirts too short as they have different part number??

#18 ·
Not sure. I got mine from the boneyard off of a four door. I started from the rear and I remember cutting off quite a bit from the fromt of them.

Nice Work, I bought the same 95' Accord 4dr. skirts for $40.00 about 3 months ago, scratched my head, and put the project on hold. Thanks to you, I now know what to do. They are also too long. Like everyone else said, need some pics from about 15ft. away. Thanks again.
My way is just one way to do them - do some searching as other members put them on differently. It is just a matter of personal taste but you might want to check around cause you might like the way the others are too. I'll get some pics up.

That's not the only place you can jack the car up from.

jack the car up from the front engine cross bar and put the jackstands under where the subframe at the back of the engine bolts to the body and then put your jack under the center support for the rear suspesion.

Good to go. Those four little body seams and not the only place.
