i've searched and can't find to much about my engine. i just got done doing my compression test. its a stock bottom end with a turbo kit on it. what do you think about my results?

most everything i see is in the 200-215 range. whats up with my 235s?

According to the Chilton manual:
h22a4---Compression Pressure check @200 rpm Wide open throttle:
Nominal.......... 178psi 1230kPa
Minimum......... 135psi 930kPa
Max variation... 28psi 200kPa

My cyclinders were 158psi, 160psi, 160psi, 159psi, repectively when I tested them with a snap-on compression tester.

i tested my 01 and got 185-195 across. but i read another thread where someone was saying there comp was like 215. im not sure, but i read the same thing in Helms.

wait, so are you running the turbo on stock internals?

my type s is 235, my h22 was 180ish, but reguardless, you shouldn't have huge varations. i guess if 28 is max vari. its ok, but seems like something to keep an eye on in 2+3

i confused too. i see big variations of what other people are getting. the average that i see is 205-215. my car is 7 years old, how cold i have perfect compression on 2 cylinders and what i consider normal wear on the other 2? its almost like there are 2 different types of pistons in there

first time i tested mine, i wasnt letting it crank up enough. give it enough time, and hook yourself up to a charger if the battery goes dead.
