Wsup. My car is lowered 1.5" all around and my tires rub only when turn the wheel all the way to the right or left. I currently have 02-04 rsx rims w/ 205/55/16 tires. I want to go down to 205/45 but a member from bap.com said that those are too small for the lude and to go w/ 215/45 instead. is that right? Wouldn't I rub on those too if my wheel is turned all the way? Can anyone suggest a tire spec that won't cause any problems w/ 16" rims. btw, would 17" 205/40/17 be ok also?sorry for all the questions.im not too familiar w/ tires. Its raining like fuck in SF and my tires are almost bald.

My car is dropped close to 2" +/- and I have 05-06 RSX-s rims with P215/40R17 tires and I don't rub at all. Putting 205/45R16 or 215/40R16 tires you should be fine. The first number indicates the width of the tire and the second number is height. Either size tire you should be just fine.

Stock size for the Lude I believe is a 205/50R16. So your 205/55R16 has bigger side walls than it should possibly causing your rubbing issues.

As for 17's, I run a 215/45 R17 without issues.

Yea, the stock size tires are 205/50R16, but since you're running P215/45R17, it's almost like you're running 205/55R16. I remember when working at discount tire, when some Preludes would come in, people would get a 55 series instead of a 50 series cause they were cheaper. I actually have some 55 series on my base rims for back up. I can't be balla status like you Mike and have 20 pairs of rims :hehe:

I found that web site when i was looking for my rims helped me out with sizing my tires. Plus if your running 16" rims I'd go with the stock size of 205/50 16.
Also I'm running 205/45 17 no problem, but for my next set im gonna go with 215/40 17

Brian I am down to only 1 set for the Lude which is what is pictured. Matching spare of course though.

The CR-V just has the stock EX rims on right now. I will be putting on 02-04 RSX rims though as they should be here by Tuesday. Just need to get tires for them. I did score a 5th one for a matching full size spare like I have for the Lude.

But yes, I did have 6 setd sitting at my garage at one time for 2 different cars. lol

The question is where are you rubbing? I have 17x8 +45 with a 215/45R17 and mine doesn't hit but my old track wheels, stock SH wheels with 225/50R16's would rub the inside part of the fender well and the inner part of the top with a cut bump stop. After spacing them out 10mm I no longer had the problem. You're best bet for stocks would be to get the stock size and figure out where the current tires are rubbing in the mean time.

I think my tires rub on the outer lip of the fender when i turn my wheels all the way. I barely have 1 finger gap in the front. I especially have problems when trying to pull into my driveway because my street is on a hill. So would 17 inch rims w/ 215/40 be ok? It seems like you guys don't have problems w/ it and your ludes are lower than mine.

Not to be a nag but you do realize that 235/40R17 tires are designed to fit on wheel that is 8 inches or wider right?

All you ever do is nag

235 will fit on my wheels with no issues. My buddy already has 235 on his 7.5 inch wheels and its no biggy. Thats the biggest I would go though on a 7.5 inch wheel otherwise the tire starts to overlap the wheel. I worked at a tire shop for 2 years and have had alot of experience with wheels so I know what Im doing. Thanks for the concern though.

Once I get my 8 inch wheels I may consider going to 245. At that point Im gonna have to roll my fenders. Not too sure though if I wanna go that wide. As far as ride height I have Tein SS so I can adjust the car if needed.
