So basically 1st and 2nd slams into/downshifts pretty harsh while 3rd and 4th goes into neutral every shift, but it got pretty concerning when I was going over a speed bump and it stalled out then I managed to crank it back up but then i noticed that it was overheating a bit and it starts shifting smoothly when the car fully warms up. I’m not sure if it’s the torque converter or what but can someone please help me out

Have you checked the gearbox fluid level and colour? Be good to check that as a first point of call.

Also you mentioned overheating? I assume you mean the engine coolant? The gearbox fluid runs through the radiator to cool, so check the coolant levels and sort out whatever issue is causing your temp issues.
