so i was cruising around in honda-tech and i came up this one guys avatar.
it was puzzling me cuz i could really tell what it was, it was pretty blurry. Just an interior picture with a red blob around the shift area. So i looked at his sig and went to his site to maybe get some info.

It had a better picture of his avatar there. I was still kinda boggled on what it was so i asked him to get us some pics and explain it for us......and this is the thread:

^^ tall shaft does not equal long throw... that thing could only have to move 1mm in either direction to shift... the closer the shift knob is to the steering wheel, the less distance your hand has to travel to shift...

realistically, and i'll use a standard prelude shifter for this example, hacking off the shaft to be shorter won't really lessen your total shift time, if it doesn't increase it...

next time you're watching the WRC cars, take a look at where there shifter is, when they're not using the paddles... the shaft comes up to about the height of the center of the steering wheel...

my shifter is sequencial too.

1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th
or if I feel like it
5th 4th 3rd 2nd 1st

I can even go out of order if the need arises.

seriously though, that's pretty badass. I'd like to try one out.
