I bought a heating element and stuck it under the synchro casing it works amazing I just gotta rig a better switch...unless it's 100 degrees out prelude transmissions suck doesn't matter what oil

What fluid did you put in the tranny? I've never had issues with either of the trannys that have been in my Prelude.

Yeah... not sure what you mean by "H22 transmissions suck in the cold".

I drove my car when it was 30* outside and the trans shifted and worked just fine- and mine has 200k miles on it.

I use to drive my prelude when it was minus 30 degrees celcius outside.


I think if your trans has cold issues, then you need a new trans.


Also, don't run motor oil in it, use only MTF, prefferably from Honda.

I have used Sycromesh fluid in both B and H series trannies for years - shifts like butter and I can even drop it into first while rolling 10-20mph. Try it

GM synchromesh is butter in the "cold". Granted the cold we get around here doesnt get much below 50 degrees but still. Also Torco standard MTF works quite well too.
