Got Sean's line installed today and it is WAY pimp. A must-have if you have headers. It does whine slightly but I can only hear it at idle and it's not bad at all. Kinda sounds like a teeny SC. Apparently there is some air still in the system as I do get the shudder going lock to lock but both my mechanics tell me that will go away eventually.

Pics to follow this weekend after a good bath. Got this installed plus new Whitelines F & R, new Bilsteins, Mike's adjustable endlinks for the rear & Energy Supension Del Sol endlinks for the front plus a DC header. Yum----
Man that took a long time, I sent your line out over two months ago?? Glad hear you like it, definitely get some pics up. :)

Sean, got some news as to a solution for the whining pump & shudder and it involves reusing an internal piece out of the old hose. We've been fucking with this thing for 2 weeks and just figured it out today. When I get a pic of it from my mechanic, I'll post it up and it'll all make sense but it's something that Audi used to do with their PS hoses and we had no idea that Honda did it on this particular one as well. Learn something new every day---

Let me know, so I can make the improvements on the newer lines.

I have a similar non-problem with my setup. I think you will find the whining comes from the SS braided line. The hydraulic shop I bought my parts from said the SS braided line would be noisy. I figured that I would use it until I had the length exactly right and then replace it with a crimped end rubber line.

The aeroquip rubber P/S line would damp out most of the whining.

I have gotten used to it so I probably wont bother.

I think what you are referring to is the restriction built into the stock line. None of the aftermarket replacement lines have this feature either.

Dano, you're right on it. There's a restrictor piece that's internal to the OEM hose that I assume equalizes the pressure and acts as a baffle. What my guy did was cut open the OEM hose, pulled that piece out and slid it inside the SS braided line. Now, it's as quiet as a church mouse. FYI, we tried a piece of Aeroquip rubber hose without the restrictor and still had the whining issue so I don't know if that will solve the problem by itself.

Sean, I'll have some pics of a piece of the restrictor for you first part of the week. I would think you might want to start removing it from the OEM lines that get sent to you as cores and just put it in the SS braided lines since I guess the top piece just gets junked anyway.

You can remove the restrictor from the OEM line and install it in the SS braided line ? That would be great because I use the "reuseable" fittings. All I have to do is unassemble, slip in the restrictor, and reassemble. Looking forward to the pics. Many thanks.

What ever happened to the pics? Sean did you ever get them? I am in need of replacing my P/S line now that it has started to leak. Maybe w/ the economy you can negotiate better pricing :)
I wish, I have gotten it down to the minimum I can for now. At least for now its not going up anytime soon, unless metal goes up again. The reason to is my new fabricator has one of those special bending machines that cost like $40,000 which is why I cant go lower.

He does a lot of hoses and fittings for contruction, AC lines, Brake lines, Hydraulic lines so we are a very small market but the nice thing about hims is he is very nice to work with. So the quality is worth the price at this point.

Trust me if I can get it lower, I will.

Sean, all new ones come w/ the proportioning valve so they are quite correct?
No, what we have done is reused the restrictor that comes from the OEM line. As long as its in-tack.

If there is non sent, then we just make it without.

You still selling these? And how much of the original line do you need? The rubber part that goes over the manifold on my is pretty fubared.
Yes I do.

Just send the whole line right up to the powersteering rack.
