I started my car up to warm it up and went back inside this morning and when I came out I heard a gurgling kind of noise. So I popped the hood open and oil was shooting from behind the block and up towards the driverside. So I shut it off and found a giant pool of oil underneath. I checked up top, but couldn't find anything so I lifted it and checked underneath. I believe the leak is coming from the area of the oil filter.

After searching the forums for some answers I believe it is the oil cooler gasket. From reading other peoples stories about their oil cooler gaskset leaks they seem extremely similar(cold morning, complete dumping of oil) to mine. I am just looking for some other opinions of what may be going on as the oil spraying upwards is kinda throwing me for a loop. The oil sprays up right by the #4 injector on the driver side.

Thanks in advance for any help guys.

Are you sure it's not the gasket on the oil filter that blew out? Because that's a piece of cake to fix. Just install a new oil filter.
