I have 2 5th Gens, one has no ignition or key. The other one does. The one with no key is the one I'm building as a racecar. Can I take take the ignition and column out of one and put in the other? Will this be somewhat simple?

The transponder will make that difficult. Do some research on it, there are tons of threads.

Yes, you can swap the ignition and all over.

But as mentioned, if it's a racecar....you don't need a key. Push button start that bitch!

You can swap over all the stuff and imobilizer. I would convert over to OBD1 stuff personally. You will be able to ditch all the emission junk and not worry about a CEL on all the time. Plus OBD1 is what you need for tuning or to be tuned easily.

I'm with spray on this one, once you switch to OBD1 you can just have a standard key cut without the transponder and everything will work fine. Alternatively, once you switch to OBD1, the push-button start will work fine, too.
