Honda wanted $265 for just the part, a new Brake master cylinder. I found a Beck-Arnley for $65 online and installed it myself! It was a lot easier than expected. Just pop the old one off, put the new one on, prime it by having someone pump, then release as you hold your fingers over the brake line holes.

Hook up lines, bleed all 4 wheels, and voila!

That's EXACTLY what mine was doing. The new master fixed the problem. I got the part from Rock and it only took 2 days to arrive. They had a couple of options, but the Beck/Arnley was among the cheapest, and came complete, with the reservoir and cap.

I don't think the PO had ever changed the brake fluid, it was black as night.
