Not directly. They aren't shaped exactly the same. And don't the 3g hoods open from the front like most cars?

yes they do, best bet with a carbon fiber hood is to have one made which is gonna cost you out the @ss, thats why you dont really see anyone on here rocking them

It wud be nice but i asked this question a long time ago when i was new and i got the same answer but the shape is a little off and if it werent for that it wudnt matter if the mounts were on the back of the 3rd gen hood cus u cud just fabricate it to fit if it was possible im sure somone on here wud have found a way to do it and so far i havnt seen anyone im thinkin about makin my own but it will be awhile im just now gettin outta money problems and then i got a gf so right back in the broke hole i go so oh well lol

I know what you're saying... It seems like my money goes on my Mrs and not my car anymore.. how does that work :sly:
Anyway, back to the hood.. you could make one out of fiberglass, create a plug and then make a CF one but good luck with the parts.. SUPER EXPENSIVE with the American military gobbling up most of the free carbon fiber about... I was quoted a ridiculous amount lateley and I just wanted to fab a few pieces for a custom stereo enclosure!

the cheapest thing you could do is an overlay but why bother cause thats just gonna add weight

Mcmaster Carr sells carbon fiber fabric cut from 60" wide rolls. It's $23/foot, so a 5' x 5' sheet would be about $125. Doing a whole hood would cost a few hundred dollars in materials just for the CF. You would probably also have to make a fiberglass mold of a stock hood to lay the CF into.

u wud and then if u want to customize the hood ud have to make another but if u did do that u wud only hae to make one mold and u cud start producing more and sellinng them cud possibly be a good way to make money if u had the money to get started
