Hey, I have a 88 Prelude S with the SOHC engine. Its idles at 1500RPMs and I was wondering how far it is out of the norm. It has idled high for as long as ive had it. Any ideas why? It has no leaking vacuum(ive checked). Everything seems to be in OK shape. Thanks in advance for the help.

That's higher than normal, yes. I would check your idle setting in the carburetors, and also take the time and check to ensure they're clean - they may need some cleaning.

Normal idle is 800 rpm. The correct high idle when the engine is cold is 1600 rpm to 2000 rpm; is the choke linkage just stuck?

Adjusting the idle speed.
