so the H22 is in and everything seems Good and almost ready to start the car (just missing the power steering line to come back from the shop)

BUT

as was noted before. the shifter linkage hits the clutch hardline. the Hardline has been moved by my mechanic and now he notices that when trying to shift, he can easily shift to 1,3,5 (top gears) but is unble to shift to 2,4,R (lower gears) as the cable seems too long.

any idea/suggestion?

I had the same problem with my h22 swap at first!

Basically the shifter fork on the h22 tranny comes really close to the stock clutch hydro line, and causes the trans not to fully engage 2nd, 4th, and reverse. I had to drive around with my hand on the shifter when in those gears, otherwise it would fall out of gear almost immediately.

The pressure on the line caused by the shifter fork will eventually cause the line to bust (happened to me). Just get yourself a 15in SS steel braided line with 2 10mm banjo fittings.

The new line will be just long enough to fit the h22 slave cylinder without contacting the shifter fork. The h22 doesn't require the normal 26in line that the b20/b21s did, because the h22 slave cylinder is much closer to the hydro line hook up.

thanks Rash...

I actually said it wrong the first time. gears 2,4,R are not going down like if it's not long enough. it's like if you were in Neutral you feel like you're actually in 4th cus you can't go lower.

ah....I bought an accordian shifter and cables...

maybe that's why I didn't have the hardline issues?

the only issue I had was the rubble clutch line hitting the shifter fork

wow...every time we think we've got the h22 swap down, something new comes up

WTF

wait... you mean 4g Lines with Accord Shifter = no good?

you know how hard it was to even FIND a shifter and it was only an accord.

it's gonna be impossible to find a prelude one.

You must have either 4GP shifterbox/shifter cables, 5th gen shifter box and cables or accord shifter box and cables.

I bought mine from someone on here, I think it was preludeboyBMW or something like that.

FOR DIRT CHEAP!

The accord shifter would had made things a lot easier, had I used the proper accord cables.

And I don't have the clutch line issues you guys speak off at all.

So, what is the consensus here? What shifter will work without any rubbing/hitting hardline issues? I have a 4g prelude im taking the H22A out of, so i have the whole shifter assembly from that car. Im going to be starting my swap to my 3g shortly and i need to know this information. I dont want to deal with messing with hardlines.
