Hey I am looking for headers for my engine. I've been told that obx got em. turns out they stopped fabricating them. I also went to the website. Looks scetchy. Do ya'll know if i can get me an h, f, or b series headers. Or, 80-90 dsm headers. idk, ya'll tell me. tbh idc what car is coming off from, as long as the flange diameter and bolt patterns are the same.

Looks to be in pretty good condition. Someone should buy this. (y)
Finally got around to it. Here are pics of the headers. Price is $400 and I'm willing to ship inside the US at the buyers expense. View attachment 33206

Man. Those look pretty nice! What are the 2 holes for on the upper manifold? I would definitely buy it, but some day I do want to do a b20VTEC swap. I would like to save money for that. But man if my goal was to build the B21a1 I would totally buy these headers. @Chris3g I would buy this so I don’t have too. Lol

Those are for the O2 sensors. The B20a5 for OBD0 Preludes have 2 single wire sensors. You can put a plug in one for 0BDI cars.

I was wondering. I have OBD1.
I have a question regarding the 02 sensor placement. The b21 single 02 sensor is on the downpipe just after the bend. If you were to plug one of these, and instead of adding another bung in the stock position, use one of the two locations already on the header, would that affect the reading in any way? Or is the position not different enough to make a difference? Other than possibly having to extend the harness to fit the new location, does anyone know of an issue with using one of these locations instead of welding in a new bung in the stock b21 position?

I don't know for sure but I'm thinking they moved it to the downpipe because there is too much heat in the header for the b21a1 O2 sensor. If memory serves, the OBD1 sensor is heated, and the higher exhaust temps will burn it out. But then again it's been a while since I messed with this crap so I could be full of it. :D

Its due to the O2 readings are better down behind the pipe, that was improved since OBD1 diagnostics.

Makes sense. I’m not trying to put money into this engine for “performance gains” because there isn’t much to gain, but I have to say seeing a set of these hits home. I remember putting these on my first 91 20 years ago and I was so excited. I found my old account on here and was reading through my posts, and I was convinced on this set of headers. Not really sure it makes sense to convert this set to a B21 setup, but like when will you ever see these in this shape again?

1funryd is correct. Moving the sensor to the downpipe allows for reading of all 4 cylinders instead of them being measured in pairs like the OBD0 models.

That is interesting. Didn’t think about the fact that in the b21 setup it is placed right where the exhaust turns into a single pipe. Thanks 1funryd and 3gen3rdgen for the info!

Just plug both holes and use the B21 down/ flex pipe. Or plug the holes and make your own down pipe with flex tube from Ebay, random pipes and flanges from old prelude parts or source online.

Luckily when I bought this 90 it came with a ton of extra parts. So the header was already on the car. They get HOT AF! So even tho the SS looks awesome with its bluing, I bought some wrap to hopefully cut down on the heat under the hood. They do make the B21 sound mean AF tho.

Another thing. I dunno if the down tube is too long or the header are t00 long but the DP hangs way t00 low under the oil pan. You can see that the prior owner already broke the mount by hitting a dip. It ripped a hole right out of the top and bent the crap out the mount. Before I install everything back onto the motor im going to try and find a good shop that can cut the DP and reweld the flange a few inches down from the top.

Sounds like you got a OBX know off of the DC header. It does hang lower than stock.
That was one of the fitment quality control issues with them.

Just have the exhaust shop cut and reweld by shortening the header. That will fix the clearance issues.

No, this header only works on fuel injected models. The b20a3 exhaust port configuration is different.

Do you know where I could acquire a set for the a3 my exhaust has a good deal of damage and it's difficult to find other luders willing to part with their old things can't say I blame them but it would be useful even if it's stock I'm just not in a position to buy multiple 3rd gens for parts no money and no storage hell i already have a vq sitting in my living room I live in an apartment so not the best place to leave a part car sitting at...
I was never able to source any headers for the A3. Even back in 2005 when I bought my first one. The only headers I ever saw for that engine were custom made.
The DC Sports header is SOLD.
