Ahhh... The beginning!

For a while now my best friend and i have been talking about my lude. Going over some long term plans for her, both cosmetically and performance wise. We've been talking more about building my h22 in the past months, more specifically going to F.I. Well,my friend works at a Honda dealership and has some resources, and the today he bestows upon me some great news. "Dude, I'm picking you up an f23 block..." Then my mouth dropped:eek:h:. G23 for me :mrgreen:. So, it looks like there will be a new setup dropping in my 5th Gen. The exact setup is not known. As for how long this may take i don't know (shooting for 6 months to a year...lol). The block is getting picked up tommorrow. Then we will discuss some more possibilities ...

Lmk what you guys think...
Any help or suggestions are appreciated as to what works well, what doesn't.
And most of all ... any ideas to make this a good build for a fair price (im kind of on a budget...lol)
So i am asking help from the best of the best (yes, thats you PP brethren...lol) for help during the build.

***Update July 19th

Well, after some searching and saving it is time to buy another H22 head. I found one locally in KOP on Craigslist. Talked to the guy...everything is set.

H22 head no sensors or manis ... but has Skunk2 Stage 1 Turbo cams... for a whopping 350 :p (sound good?)

So now i have the block and head... and a stand for the engine.
Also my oem CF hood is being repaired Tuesday and installed hopefully by Wednsday.

Theres the little update and comments are appreciated.

Update!!!

Well, bought the head... and recently had my cf hood fixed and installed!!!!

Head is in need of a few small parts... but otherwise is in good condition.



OEM Seibon Carbon Fiber Hood is dead sexy!!!




Last bit of news! Engine build will commence shortly. But more importantly. I have an eager gf to pose with the lude for a lil photoshoot. So... keep your eye out before the end of summer.

hey all well i got my turbo in :p





All looks well .... except the exhaust side seems to have what appears to be a very small (1/2 -1 inch) hairline crack or two) :((( they dont seem to be all the way through (should i worry about this ... or can i possibly jb weld it or something or am i in need of a new exhaust housing.... :/

Also i have a question. I can pick up a Drag Mani for 60 shipped... will this manifold be okay for my goals?! Help would be appreciated!

Also just purchased a slightly used Drag Mani for it :p

Well it has been a while since ive first purchased my 1997 240sx and I figured id post a semi proper build thread since my first post has made much more progress.

Well i picked this bad boy up in January of 2012 from a guy in Delaware for 4200 bucks. Stock SE, auto, non abs, 13X,XXX miles 2 owners ... pretty good condition... no rust. And the guy was planning to swap an s14 sr in it so that came home with me too. However upon inspection the SR head was missing all kinds of shit, and honestly wasnt wanting an SR anyway. So I ended up parting that out to help get my 5 speed swap and some coilovers and what i had left to start building a spare KA i had bought locally (ended up being total junk :facepalm:). So with that said over many long nights, spending money left and right, and countless drunken stoopers heres where its at...

If you're going to boost it anyway you could just do it on your stock motor.

If you do plan on boosting it just watch out, lots of the H/F hybrids are going for a lot more compression than stock. You'll want to use some sort of F-series spec piston, not a H22.

The N/A capabilities are pretty good for a G23. Import tuner did an article on a G23 swap and Built and tuned it made 248.8 WHP and 181.2 FT-LB. They swaped in K20 pistons to bump the compression ratio up to 11.5:1. If you want to build for F/I you can keep the stock F pistons because with the H22 head it will push the compression down to 8.8:1.

or you could turbo with high compression. but how do you keep it all safe?? well since you have bigger injectors and engine management if you go turbo, tune it on e-85. you will make shit loads of power. even at low boost
