who here has done this conversion before without the dash harness? I am in the process of doing it now. However, before I put the pins inside the sockets, Does anyone know if I put in the wires Left to right with the plug like this:

or like this:

also, is there anyone with an AT tranny thats done this?

For those that did the EL gauges conversion w/ 92-93 harness...

can you guys have your gauges and clock be as bright as the temp / gas gauges??

i'm running into the issue of when i turn my city / headlights on, both clock and speedo gauges dim while the temp / gas gauges are still bright... i want all 3 of them to have the same brightness, so what i do is dim my temp / gas gauges to have everything even... this sux... am i missing something? wiring perhaps? or bad dimmer switch or relay?

Well.. I have replaced the dimmer relay 3 times and its the same result...

Please advise...
When I spliced my harness, I think I disconnected the dimmer switch so it always stayed on at full brightness even when I turned on my headlights. I can't remember too well because only a few weeks later I just got the proper dash harness on ebay for like $15 or something like that.

hmm... i never thought about that... i will give that a shot... though i want to keep my 92-93 harness due that it powers my fog light switch where the tweeters are at...

Well what I did for my fog switch, was rip open the 92-93 harness, follow the wires... and put those pins in the blank spots on the 94-96 harness. and... voila... 92-93 fog switch harness is now retrofitted into the 94-96.

i guess i'll give that a shot... :)
Maybe that's a silly question but I am not good in 4th gen knowledge.
Is that possible to convert mph to kmh i US Digital clusters? Is there any switch or they are just a mph or kmh and that's all. Mainly I am talking about "daily" mileage or however you call it. I am asking cause my friend is about to buy a Digital Cluster from ebay or a forum member.
i dont think there is a switch.. we do have the km/h speedo numbers, they are just smaller and on the inside..but as for the mileage, i dont think so.

I can change mine from mph to km =D

Show me how to do it

you take out the cluster, and open up the bottom plate on it. You'll see a little 1"x2"x1/4" plate (with unilluminated digits) that is removable with 3 screws. Kinda hard to explain, I'll take a pic if I can.

I finally did it... 94-96 EL Gauges w/ 92-93 fog light switch working :D n0rmal helped me out on this...

Wats good
Am in the process of doing el cluster conversion, am also keepin my dash 92 harness. But the last picture from "92 VTEC Lude" doesnt work(page 1). I know where all the 10 wires from connector B go, But Does anybody know where the remainding wires go for connectors A and T go. Any wiring diagram for el cluster will help

Any help will be appreciated
Hey
Right now am trying to test to see if my cluster even lights up, but all thats lighting up are the 2 needles and tachometer, everything else is dark.
Quick question my cluster came with the inverter box and the two white connector on it, but not with the green connector that suppose to be on it as well. Does that have anything to do with it lighting up?

Any help will be appreciated
Yes, you need the green connector.
Been looking for this green connector, but have yet to find one. Anyone here has an extra that r not using. I would buy it right away.
Hi. Can anyone help me? Does anyone know if there is any difference in the wiring on a auto el cluster to a manual el cluster other than the 7 gear indicator lights? Also does anyone have a working diagram for this and the cluster i have has no 5 pin pug i have a 16 pin, 10 pin and 6 pin. Any help would be very appreciated.
El cluster 4th gen

Finally I got the EL gauge to work properly in my 92 prelude without using a wiring harness from the 94-96 prelude...:p :p (my EL cluster come from a 94 Prelude SRV and inverter is from a RHD Prelude from Japan)...
Thanks to Sean1121 for the proper circuit diagram of the EL gauge that shows the write-up I got before was completely backward in wires arangement...:(
here is my own revised WORKING EL gauge wiring diagram for those who going to do this mods later....

to bboixtc you may have to add more wires for your EL gauge to work since you need the AT gear indicator and 4WS, all of that circuit diagram can be found in the manual Sean1121 gave us....

Can I please get the diagrams for some reason image shack won't load for me, I have a 1992 prelude sir with a analog cluster and I'd like to change 1995 prelude el cluster , can u send images to my email [email protected].
Thanks in advance
I know this a long shot anyone can send me the diagram as well I’ve got a 93 outing in a el not sure what version but Speedo is only thing not working [email protected] Thank you.
