Boost

I want to boost my B20A. Should I go single, or twin scroll? I want at least 700HP. I've been told that i can put b21 cams. I was thinking to put cams and internals from another engine that would handle HP and torque. Its obvious that I need a hondata or a stand-alone ECU. What do ya'll think? Ideas and suggestions will be appreciated.

Do you mean single turbo or dual turbo? I don’t know if it is possible to get 700hp from a B20a. I think the most the trans will handle is like 400hp. There really aren’t any cams from other engines that will work. What I would do is buy an H22 or a B20Vtec and turbo it if you want big power. Those engines have a lot more support and actually have parts you can buy for them.

Not going to happen.
This bastard B motor and transmission can only handle 400whp and that is max.
There are no parts to build the motor to handle more than that.

Its been done and the rumored max was one member from Australia who got to: 500wp
But broke the motor and transmissions and then just stopped and had to de-power the turbo setup.

If you want power at that level, you need to swap to the H or B-series swap and then build those blocks and upgrade the transmissions and then get awd to keep the traction to the ground because anything more than 300whp traction is useless.

I mean single turbo. I am going to try though. My brother told me the same thing. He got a 4th gen with an H. I just want my build to be unique. Thats all.

Well if you really are going to try it is going to be a long road and a very expensive one. If you turbo a h22, or a b20vtec you will cut the cost in half. But when you start this build you will have to keep us updated and show us what you are doing. It will be interesting!
If you have to ask what turbo to use, you're already past your depth.

I had to edit your post because you posted your reply inside the quote.

What you seem to be not understanding is that the bastard-b platform cannot handle power past the 400whp.
You run into block cracking, and transmission gears stripping and cracking the case as well.

It has been attempted, and there is no uniqueness about trying to hit a 700whp goal.
You cannot do that affordably or reliably on this engine platform. There is no replacement parts that you can purchase off the shelf too do that.

That is why you are being told its not doable.
The price to get to a 400whp turbo bastard-b setup is going to cost more than a H\F-series or B-series swap.
And those swaps are well documented for making over 400whp.

Do you understand the cost to get to that kind of power? Its not cheap even with those platforms but but you are saying you want to be unique amongs your Honda boi fans?

Just owning a 3rd gen prelude, you already became unique because you are going to find out real quick that this chassis shares nothing with the newer civics\integras\del sols\preludes\accords.

All aftermarket parts to support this chassis are all custom, and I mean custom, not ebay custom because there is nothing of any kind of power adder on ebay that will bolt up to this platform.

You need to read up on the FAQ's in our forum and you will see whats required to make power on this platform.
But do not expect 700whp, that is unrealistic.
