I am reviving my 88, and I removed the driver's side fender today, and found the windshield washer line mostly gone with the tip broken off of the pump (looks like Ebay has new ones of those), but there is also a black canister mounted down there that has a single vacuum line that runs back up to the intake. The tip is broken on the canister, so the line is just dangling. I assume this is for some kind of emission stuff, but is it needed? I am in Alabama so no emission test needed, and the car has not ran in about 5 years, but since I have been working on it again recently, it does not seem to affect it like other vacuum leaks would. Thoughts?
