Bloody tasmanians lol! ;) Welcome to the community.
Mate use the search tab its been asked quite alot. Plenty of info on what can be done. And some people crack it answering "noobie" questions like this lmao.

But to quickly answer your question it all depends on what you want to achieve.
basically any improvement in power will be from head work like porting and polishing raising the comp and a cam. Also a good exhaust and intake to help it breath. Search and you will find heaps more info

Good luck and its always good seeing another ausie here even though your from tas lol I joke

Post up some pics

Start with the exhaust a decent made 2" system will give you a good 5-10bhp gain with 10-20lbft torque, I had one made with custom 2-1 downpipe from cast header, ported, matched and polished cast header, 2" main system with 2 silencers same size as originals and dual exit, with some minor stock carb tweaks made 115bhp and 127lbft which wasn't too shabby engine had done 35k miles at the time.

If you did this plus a mild camshaft you'd be looking at 130bhp and 130lbft, with a custom header made as well 135bhp and 135lbft, add webers and rowlands manifold looking at 150-160bhp and 140lbft, rebore to A20 specs add another 10 all round, port and flow head, 10bhp and 5 lbft, bigger valves add another 5-10bhp and few lbft, bigger camshaft can gain you even more on top again 5-10bhp and few lbft. Then you'll have to change to 2.5" exhaust system at 180bhp level as anything smaller will start to bottle neck, and larger header primaries too, then you'll need some DCOE 48's with 43mm chokes or bike carbs with 45mm bore and you could potentially get upto around 220-240bhp and 175-185lbft with a power range of around 4500-8500rpm.

Mines at 200bhp and 160lbft at 7600rpm peak bhp but running original cast header, camshaft needs a more aggressive lift, needs forged pistons with flat tops for higher CR ratio, and larger Carbs and I'd be able to squeeze quite a bit more but the cost to get that extra 20-30bhp would be pretty huge! where as to get it where it is now is pretty reasonable considering it's nearly twice the original bhp!!
