Arent all 93 prelude si's h22a1? my dad is completly sure its the stock engine, and im telling him no but im not actually sure.

92-96 honda prelude either have

a f22 (S)
a h23 (Si)
or a h22. (Si Vtec)


i dad and my friends dad thought the same thing.. : /

Well, since u said h22 si vtec, that means that the engine thats in my car is in fact stock? it says right on it (H22A1)

no.
if your car is an si body style the stock motor for it is the h23
if it isn't it's the h22

look at your VIN. if the 4th 5th and 6th numbers are bb1 then it's not an si and it is in fact the stock motor
if it says bb2 then it's an si with a motor swap
no other options

period

Vtec is not an si either

the vtec engine didn't make it to the 4g prelude until 93 when it was introduced as the vtec. in the bb1 chassis.
the bb2 took the si engine and the si never got the vtec engine with the prelude

I know when the H22 was introduced.
And I'm not saying that BB2's had vtec. What I'm saying is that BB1's were originally referred to as Si VTEC's until 1994. When they dropped the Si part and just used VTEC in the name.
