Hi I have a 2001 Honda prelude Base 2.2L VTEC, I had saw in a past discussion that prelude exhaust manifolds are interchangeable between SH and BASE.
I actually ordered a BB6 exhaust kit for my 01 Base Model prelude and it did not fit.
Can someone explain to me why? I’m just very confused because I only simply wish to find a cheap exhaust kit for my vehicle. I just ordered a 01 prelude manifold kit that goes down to the cats. I’m just looking for either a full 01 base prelude exhaust kit or a 01 base prelude down pipe kit (starting at the cat)

Because there is supposed to be a spacer to make up the difference if using an sh exhaust on a base. Most exhausts are universal between the two.

Downpipes differ in length, why the exhausts differ. The header bolts up no problem, and some companies supply a spacer incase you are using the exhaust on a base.

This subject has been discussed many times over the years. You get what you pay for.
