*POSTPONED UNTIL SPRING 2015*

*POSTPONED POSTPONED POSTPONED*

As of this year I'm taking over administration duties for the Skyline meet.

Reposted from prior years:
1. FINAL MEET UP BEFORE THE CRUISE TO THE CAMPGROUND IS 613 FROST AVE. WARRENTON, VA (Food Lion/CVS) at 10:00am on Saturday morning xxxxxxxxxx *POSTPONED*
2. WE WILL DEPART PROMPTLY AT 12 NOON!!! WE WILL NOT WAIT FOR STRAGGLERS, MAKE SURE YOU CAN BE THERE AT 10:00AM!
3. The Campground is "Heavenly Acres Campground" 2010 Madison Road
Stanardsville, VA 22973 The host can be reached at (434) 985-6601
4. Bring a flashlight or LED head-band lamp. There are no lights in the tent area or in the woods for our firewood runs!
5. PM me if you want my cell phone number in case you are coming from a long distance! If you get lost you will want to be able to contact the group!
6. Don't forget to bring $8 per person in cash for the camping and it costs $15 per car to enter Skyline Drive (national park).
7. Check this post for important updates the morning of the meet!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

IMPORTANT:
1. CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELVES AT THE CAMPGROUND! THIS IS OUR 5th YEAR STAYING AT THIS CAMPGROUND WITH THE PRELUDE GROUP...WE WANT TO BE ALLOWED TO COME BACK NEXT YEAR! PLEASE CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELVES AND DON'T THROW GLASS BOTTLES IN THE FIRE! THERE IS A DUMPSTER AVAILABLE FOR WHEN WE BREAK CAMP...USE IT!
2. WHEN DRIVING IN THE CARAVAN PLEASE KEEP YOUR DISTANCE, DON'T TAIL GATE.
3. DRIVE AT YOUR OWN PACE. IF THE CAR BEHIND YOU WANTS TO GO FASTER THAN YOU, WAVE THEM AROUND AT A SAFE PASSING AREA. ...IF YOU GET LEFT BEHIND YOU WILL HAVE PLENTY OF TIME TO CATCH UP WHEN WE COME TO THE NEXT INTERSECTION.

Depending on the turnout I may take a different route to the campground this year than we did last year. The idea of taking Skyline to the campground has been floated in the past, and there's also a route halfway between 29 and Skyline that's more scenic than 29 but only two lanes much of the way.

**I'll post a photo of Skyline drive once photobucket lets me**

As far as camping goes - be prepared!!! It gets VERY cold at night, and come morning the ground is very damp - so it's suggested to bring a spare pair of shoes and warm clothes. Last year was hotter than normal for October, so prepare for more typical weather. High temps around 70?, lows around 50?.

CAMPING CHECKLIST!!!
jacket
warm clothes/sleeping bag
camping chair - optional
flashlight - there are no lights in the field
spare pair of shoes - nothing worse than driving with wet shoes!
cooking related items
2 way radios would help during the cruise, if you have them
tent

Make sure your car is prepared for this trip!!!! especially your brakes and tires!!

FOOD: THIS EVENT IS A BYOB AND BRING YOUR OWN FOOD EVENT! YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR OWN ACTIONS IF YOU CONSUME ALCOHOL! DRUG USE AND UNDERAGE DRINKING WILL NOT BE TOLERATED!

There are grills at the campsite that we are allowed to use, so come prepared! If you would like to arrange with someone to bring certain items, that's entirely up to you since there are always last minute people attending or backing out.

There's a Sheetz about 5 miles from the campground, so there are some last-minute items available there.

CAMPING FEE: THERE IS A $8 PER PERSON FEE FOR THE CAMPING. I HAVE TO COLLECT THIS AS WE ARRIVE TO THE CAMPGROUND TO PAY THE HOST! BRING CASH FOR THIS!

As the founder of this meet in 2007 I was just recently thinking about it and how I missed that trip. The first year we had almost 30 cars at one point! I haven't owned a Prelude for 1 year now after owning at least 1 prelude since my first car (89 Prelude 2.0Si) back in 1996! Depending on the date I may be able to pop in for a bit, maybe even convince some of the original crew to join!

Would be nice to have you out again, Jesse.

My first year was 2010 (small group but great time). Kirsten kept it going for the following year and I did the past 2 the best I could.

The date is set for Saturday, October 4th

Man, i havent been on this website in awhile. I use to go to the annual Skyline meet with my Silver prelude with the TSX retrofits from Jesse. My prelude died and i moved to a WRX. Now i rock a Subaru Legacy with STi sway bars. I might go this year, The Skyline meets were a lot of fun!

Officially postponing this until spring 2015. Between bad weather in the forecast, low expected turnout and my 4th gen starting to have brake issues I think delaying this event is the best plan for now.
