im currently trying to find a turbo setup for my car thats low on budget but reliable. i found out that the 1g or 2g dsm stock turbos can fit onto the prelude. ill be using the 1g turbo (14b), 1g 450cc injectors, 2g sidemount intercooler, customs charge pipes...etc.. 1g dsm turbo manifold..it fits with slight porting and redrilling the moundings holes...im getting a aem fuel pressure regulator, BOV(any kind) and i need a fuel pump .. i plan on getting a walboro 255 but my friend but i can also get a dsm pump free instead of buying one. does anybody know if i can use a dsm fuel pump in my prelude?....im going to be running 10 psi daily driven....i know the problems with the valves and the ring landing and seals on the h22... but my friend told me it should be no problem as long as i keep it rich to prevent detonation...he as a 500 hp eagle talon tsi...hes blown his motor twice and now its a fully built block capable of taking 1300hp..... does anybody know of that might become a problem? there are a few preludes out there with a dsm setup but they're all in accords with h22 swap..is there more room in an accord engine bay...anyone with experience with dsm turbo prelude?

Ive decided that the money you save now will haunt you in the end. probibly sounding something along the lines of BOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

It can be cheap and reliable.

Tuning is the key, don't skimp on that.

A megasquirt box is cheap, and reliable.

MS+injectors+manifold+turbo+piping, thats a full turbo setup, for less then a grand.

Good at 170-180whp, too.
Add an intercooler, and the price goes up, but so does the power output.

i was looking through that homemadeturbo.com site and i cringed at the butcherness of those guys. I mean cheap is cheap but thats just horrible. their hearts are in the right place but i think they think out of their asses.

no offense to neone that likes this site but its a little TOO cheap to do things their way. Im probibly like this cause i like everything to go together properly and not have to use JB weld and makeshift mandrel bends.

I visit that site almost daily. It's provided me with lots of helpful info. Not all of the homemade kits are ghetto. Some tig up their own manifolds and custom parts. Look through the fabrication/porn section and you will find just as many works of art as shabby units.

lasthope05; i've got a used 14b dsm turbo for sale. if you want it PM me.

I wouldnt go cheap either, fuck that.
I'm not going to risk blowing my engine and having to spend twice as much money and time on my car just to get it back to where i originally wanted it.
I've spent over 2k already and i've still got a whole cat back exhaust system, bov, professional tuning and smaller turbo parts to spend money on. and that's even with me and my friend doing most of the fabrication and install. the total will probably be around 3.5k+.

We may not look all pertty but we get err done... If you dig a little deeper you can find a ton of info there on DIY setups....DIY WideBands, DIY Engine Managment, Etc, Etc.

From that Run on mess I didnt get what the heck it was exactly you were using for managment?? Not even a dreaded FMU ?? I wouldnt plan on running 10psi without Managment.....ditch the hole fpr/pump route, go to www.pgmfi.org and learn about chipping your ECU with a standalone you will probably be running Crome since that seems to have the most support for the F22/1g mitsu setup.... CB7tuner.com will have some tunes for you to start a basemap with

But please at the very least get a fuel hack w/450 injectors, dont do go the road you are going down

wait till u spend 2-3 grand and your shit blows up the next day. then u'll be saying i should've went the cheap way. tuning is all there is to it, most of the times.

For sure, don't go with a hack. It'll work for a while but suppose you are using a AFC, all it is doing is manipulating the MAP reading to the ECU. As a result of this, you are able to manipulate the fuel curves but have no way to change the timing maps for that additional fuel. Do yourself a favor and go with Crome at the very least. Before you do that though, make sure you have tuners available that are able to tune using the software. Just my .02

Hey tuff tuffy is that 16g on your car?

Cheap Fast Reliable. Pick Two. Don't skimp out man. Do it correctly the first time. By the way 90-94 DSM intercoolers are bigger the the 2nd gens. I can't say if a 1st gen pump will fit a lude, but if it doesn't go with a Walboro 190 and save yourself the noise of a 255hp.

Make sure there is no shaft play on the 14b. Most of them are gone after 120K miles. I've had 2 go with in 2 months of each other. Another thing when you get the IC, clean the inside out with gas. The breather hose from the valve cover goes into the intake on dsm's and oil comes with it and then it all stays at the bottom of the IC. I dumped out almost 1 quart of oil from a used on I got.
