Having too many projects is not a wise move. We all love different cars for different reasons, but as you get older you realize that having more than one project car is more than one person can handle.

That's too many projects. You're better off picking one car and sticking with it until it's "done". That's in quotes because for me no car project is ever truly finished LOL.

I was a fan of the Opel GT's back in the day. Poor man's Corvette. I never did buy one though.
Yea that is what most people say. Right now I have 2 opels that I mainly work on. One runs and drives and the other is undergoing an engine transplant. But I want to focus more on one so I will be able to drive it to school. It has plates but it just isn’t that great. It needs some more work to make it a good driver. The one Opel is on the back burner since I am going to fully restore it some day. The prelude and my 69 Opel are my two main projects. Some people would say I have a car problem. Lol

You are doing exactly what 99% of car enthusiasts do, take on too much just because GrandPa and Dad are helping.
Focus on one. Sell the others to help finance your one car. Then maybe, just maybe you can improve your income to afford whichever car you wanted to keep and build.

I am not really hurting for money. I have a job now so money is coming in. I don’t have to sell a car for money. Now if I didn’t have a job I would maybe have to do that. We will see hopefully today I will be installing an exhaust on my prelude!

Sam, when you have too many projects it's hard to get any of them finished. It's called work in progress (WIP) and it's an efficiency killer. Your best bet is to concentrate on one project and keep at it until it's at a point you can call it finished. Then move on to the next project. That's my free unsolicited advice for the day. Take it or not, but I'd like to think I've learned something in my 60 years on this planet :D

Yeah I know. I am trying to get one car done at a time. This summer I am going to really try and get my prelude nice. Part of that is so it will be fine through this winter.

Drive the opals and just put lude in garage, tear it down to bare frame then build it back up over a period of many months. It'll pay off in the end. Driving and fixing kinda never gets to that ultimate ride look pictured in your mind. Once you finally get the lude where you picture it, then you've finished one of your many rides! Plus when you really get into your ludes guts and spend much time with her, you can feel any tiny problems even before they arise.

There is a problem with that. All my Opels are at my grandpa’s house. My grandpa has two huge barns. At my house our garage is filled with our van and my dad’s and my dirt bikes. So it would take a lot longer than expected. At least my grandparents only live like 15 minutes away. I think once I get my 1969 Opel GT running and driving good I will probably do more stuff to the lude. I am sure putting in coil overs will take a while and we will find many more problems. And I have some rust issues with the drivers front upper control arm. There is rust right above the mounting. We will see what all happens.
Ps: have you saw my pm?
Not to sidetrack the original thread topic, but I'll have to +2 with Sean and Luzer. It's good that you are able to juggle your projects, but at some point you start to realize that the time spent could be better done so behind the wheel and carving some turns. I'm also under the impression that you have more disposable time compared to we (I assume) family men. I have my share of mini projects for my so-called collection, but I recently impulsively bought a nostalgia car, only for it to unexpectedly turn into a project. Suddenly I didn't have anymore free time on my hands, and the constant back-of-the-mind thoughts just mentally drained me. Ultimately I sold at a loss, but learned a valuable lesson.

More power to you, but just remember there's a balance to everything; otherwise the hobby turns into a chore.
