Im putting the auto tranny back on (i know, i know dont start...) after replacing the real seal...the bolts go in and the 2 come togeather with not much effort untill the last 1/4"? then it becomes very hard to tighten fully. ive tried twice and got to the point that i thought damage might be being done because the bolts get (*are, as i havent finished) very tough to turn. any advise is appreciated, any auto trans haters ( i am one) please reserve comments. thanks!!

I'm not familiar with auto's as I am manuals, is the housing seated completely onto the shafts?? I know it sometimes requires a few taps with a mallet on manuals, especially with the snap ring seating properly.

So yeah....when all else fails....follow the directions....service manual pretty clearly states attach TC to housing, then attach trans to engine....


Did I mention this (engine removal/ rebuild) IS my first rodeo? 🤠
