Re: Write-up: 5th gen Rx330 Retrofit

When it comes to the RX330 Projectors how do you determine which one is for the drivers side n which one is for the passenger side? Or does this only relate to the BiXenon Projectors?

It doesn't matter for any projector. All RX330's, TSX's, FX3's, E55's, TL's all have the same beam pattern and projector design left and right. As long as they are both RHD or both LHD cutoffs there is no difference.

Ok cool cause I was shining a flashlight thru the projector n the beam pattern was the same I was like shit!!! Sigh of relief.. Slowly but surely I'll get the rest of the parts.

Did you heat the entire headlamp in an oven to 200F for 7-10 minutes? You have to get it hot for the sealant to become soft enough to open the lights.

yeah i did. I have never had success getting the lights open. I tried on my old IS 300 too, but I warped those, so I am nervous to crank it up or leave it in for too long

Are they factory headlights? You won't warp Factory lights at 200F. Just preheat the oven first and make sure the rack is several inches above the bottom of the oven to avoid scorching the bottom of the lights. Leave the lights in 8-10 minutes. Use gloves, take a knife and scratch at the glue seam all the way around quickly then use 2 flat head screw drivers to push into the glue seem and start prying the headlight apart...Once you get it start to come apart, cut the glue as it stretches with a knife and then stick the second screwdriver in the opening so it doesn't re-close. Continue this process all the way around the headlight. I've opened no less than 60 sets of Prelude headlights like this with never a problem.
