Having issues with buying a clutch.

I have a friend who owns a 93 prelude. It has a h22a that was manual swapped. Since we have bought the car we have been running into issues. Previous owner didn't really care for the car. The latest issue we are having is his clutch is worn and is soon to go out. We went to auto zone for a new clutch and when we installed it and torqued it down properly the diaphragm spring flattens out. The new clutch from auto zone had a bigger diaphragm spring than the old one. When I research buying a clutch online there are two different sized diaphragm springs. Was wondering if anyone else ran into this issue.
