getting dyno'd finally...

going to the ohpoc.org meet today, and getting the car dyno'd at slowmotion, on their dynapack dyno...

i'm quite curious to see what i put down...

it's just a dyno day, so no tune...

and just some stuff i KNOW needs replaced...
plugs/wires
filter needs cleaned

not that those are major areas for power gains, but they need to be done...

to remind everyone, i'm still on a stock ecu, with my current list of mods...

custom intake
DC header
cat delete
thermal exhaust
AEM fpr
AEM cam gears
RC engineering balanced/blueprinted injectors
supertech h22 valve springs
colt cams
port/polished head/IM
bored TB
shaved head 30 thousandths
wiseco 10.5:1 81.5mm pistons
h23 rods
balanced rotating assemby to 15k rpm
act clutch
fidanza 8lb. flywheel

stuff that might negatively affect that...
17" asa ar1 rims
aem big rotor brake upgrade...

so we'll see how that turns out on the dyno...

i know i'm not close yet, but i want to break 200whp...

i still need to chip/tune this thing, and get a bigger TB on it...

wish me luck...

Good luck mang

sappysport215 04-21-2007 08:27 AM

that will be the bomb if you can break 200whp with an all motor app.

- i wouldnt say your that far from your goal. it seems feasable. good luck.

heyfrench 04-21-2007 08:41 AM

good luck Jon!

Can't wait to see what you make!

valenburg 04-21-2007 10:54 AM

DUUUUDDEEEE, i think if you get a tuned ECU you will be very very close if not at the 200 mark....why not get one? it could only be advantageous to your setup.

JKG08 04-21-2007 10:55 AM

before he posts up his numbers we should start taking guesses. I'm thinking he'll make about 170hp to the wheels. Or a little more.

team123luder 04-21-2007 11:38 AM

I'm thinking that with a tune he'd reach 170whp which would be uber killer. No VTEC to hold him down....

Even if he made 170whp, his whip would be very fast for a lude.

guesses?

what kinda fuel and what octane will you be using?

183HP :P

motoxxxman 04-21-2007 12:35 PM

im guessing 150whp as it sits right now. and 170-185whp with a good tune.

good to hear you're finally getting it dynoed though. im really curious myself. and it will give a good before and after comparison for tuned vs stock ecu.

oh crap, you're using the dynapack. to use that dyno they remove your wheels and bolt special hubs to the car's hubs which attach directly to the dyno. so you wont experience any drivetrain loss from rims/tires, which will throw off your whp ratings. the numbers the dynapack puts out are actually about halfway between crank horse and true wheel horse. so consider that when you see the graph. torque is accurate, but hp will be a bit higher than it actually will be at the wheels.

brentm 04-21-2007 12:54 PM

That's awesome, I can't wait to see what you hit.

Eric1987 04-21-2007 12:56 PM

With all those mods only 150? Mine is 145 stock those mods would add more then 5 horse power! And whp? What does the w stand for?

WHP and HP are two different things....I can't remember the formula for converting the two off the top of my head, but it should be on Google....

gc8dc95 04-21-2007 02:09 PM

wheel horsepower = whp

HiratzkaRacing 04-21-2007 02:15 PM

I'm guessing about 150-160 whp, but whatever it is good luck and keep up that nice ride. be cool to see how much difference the Dynapack makes versus the MustangDyne (sp?) I'm getting tuned on.

Eric1987 04-21-2007 02:16 PM

I see now I just got a wikipedia thing and whp will be 20% or more lower then HP due to drivetrain loss? Thats what it says anyways

car_boy_16 04-21-2007 02:24 PM

Yeah I am guessing 150-160whp also, but I would be very pleased to see 170whp -- that would show that we have more potential than previously thought.

heyfrench 04-21-2007 02:26 PM

I'll guess 172 for the heck of it :D

secluded luder 04-21-2007 04:12 PM

157whp

sappysport215 04-21-2007 04:38 PM

150 ish or lower.

i'll have the chart up later, but it put down 153whp...

with a stock ignition, 4yr old wires and old plugs, along with the dirty ass filter, i guess that's not too bad...

i think a bigger TB and a tuned ecu are definitely in order...

i'm was kinda depressed, but i realize that for being completely untuned (the cam gears are only tuned to get it to idle) i'm doing pretty good...

ya know?

i'm pretty happy, and there's a couple dyno vids that'll be up soon...

i still think that 200whp with this setup and a couple tweaks is really feasible...
