I'd rather have a clean original Y-49 '88 or '89 anyday... with 4WS full Xenon kit, (but keep the black moldings/mirrors) lowered on 17 enkie shoguns... interior fully redone in black leather etc etc dont even get me started

|Lude4Sale215||oh I just noticed you mentioned your boyfriend, lol sorry for calling you dude before, or man whatever I said. Either youre a girl or a dude that happens to have a boyfriend. But thats cool with me, its easy to forget that not all people on car forums arent dudes... cause most are...|

yea theres no way i would drive any 20 year old car more than one maybe two states over... tried that before had too much bad luck. I wont even take a 20 year old car that ive owned for years and has earned my trust anywhere far.... jersey shore is OK... but clear across the country no way... its askin for trouble.
I ususally begin my search in Philly, then central PA, south Jersey, then north jersey, and if I still got nothin I look at DC, maryland delaware and Virginia. I have had good luck buyin Ludes in VA outside DC, they seem to be clean and cheap down there... People seem honest down there too... Its not really the south but they definitely have a southern hospitality attitude towards selling a car....

I did the DE to CT to WA drive a few years back in the summer (don't try to drive over the pass through the mountains here with your new Prelude before about March) and the drive was actually a lot of fun. Just me and my boyfriend at the time. Granted driving a car you just purchased a couple thousand miles might be a little worrisome.

thats awesome, I'm lookin to get another 88-89 Prelude Si with a 5 speed and black interior, it probably wont be yellow but I will make it yellow. I'm thinkin either the stock suspension on 90-91 sawblades, or H&R sport springs with 17's....
I have been without a license for a year, long story I had a drug problem and spent 6 months in jail, and had like 10 unpaid traffic tickets totalling $1100 so they suspended me...
I'm just gettin ready to pay them off and get it reinstated...
so i'm lookin at Preludes again.
Honestly I'm lookin at either a 88-89 Prelude Si or a 88-91 CRX any trim level....
But every CRX I find is either way overpriced, or has been ruined, or is junk. The preludes are easier to find at a fair price, but just slightly....
I might have to go a state or two over to get a suitable Lude...
No matter if its a CRX or Lude its gonna be Y-49 yellow...
I been wantin a Barbados yellow driver for years now and I never get around to it...

I was so, SO pissed about it. I'm honestly still a little angry to a degree. Well, hurt might be a better word. It makes me sad thinking about how he laughed about it. It actually hurt my feelings. I don't think he really got how much I loved the car from the first time he loaded the Craigslist ad to show me. Then we showed up and he test drove it. I was head over for it before he even got back from the test drive, all smiles.
I might put some aftermarket wheels on it in the future, but for now I've got new all seasons on the stock wheels and I'll just refinish those (just paint until the tires come off, and then perhaps some fresh powdercoat - might as well).
I'm going to keep it spoiler-less, being an '88 and all, which was the year a spoiler doesn't appear to have even been an option.
I already found a replacement quarter and I'm going to try to get it pulled here soon. Crap... just noticed I scheduled to work every day this week with the new job, even though I told my friend we could go cut the quarter later this week. Hmm... might need to do it on a break or something. They seem pretty lax though, so I'll probably have no problem getting it done anyway.
I'd like to get the car all put back together and get a lot of the work done before my friend, the previous owner, comes back from school. I'd like to surprise him with it's condition and how relatively easy it was to make it into a nice car again, even if it is yellow.

thats nice man. I woulda been PISSED when the guy backed into it.
If you got the stock spoiler and some 90-91 sawblades it would be the ultimate....
heres another pic i found

My original Barbados Yellow '88 Si 4WS. My friend purchased it 4-5 months ago for $800. He then got rear ended at a stop sign (which bumped both bumpers off - I repaired the front) and then the next day got backed into by an old man in a Lincoln.
I'm working on restoring it, fixing the body damage and then it will get a new coat of Barbados.
These pics were taken before I did much to repair anything.
I've been keeping a thread on another site where I update almost daily on what I've done for the car.
