It seems my previous posting was deleted..probably because of inactivity. Here is the basic of my build: I am rebuilding the original engine from my 1st gen prelude, fuel injecting it with megasquirt and turbocharging it with a TD04-13T turbo. I am also having the body worked and repainted Mazda Miata Green (British Racing Green for the old skoolers!).I will break this down in three posts and hopefully I can work quick enough from here on out not to have my posting deleted.
I have a pic of the TBI I was going to install...I think I have decided to go with a multi port injection to satisfy the fuel needs of the turbo. I will have an Intake manifold build coming soon.
I was luck enough that all the engine needed was a new cam, 1 rocker, new gaskets , and a very thorough cleaning. Someone had already rebuilt the bottom end. After a mock up of the turbo, I have come to the conclusion that a custom built manifold is in the near future.
After deciding not to go TBI because of running a turbo (Not enough fuel injector choices) it was back to the pull-a-part for more parts. I got a throttle body with an IAC Valve from a 3.8L Ford Thunderbird and a Fuel Pressure Regulator from a Lincoln Mark (Whatever...1996 Model I think). I have also included some pics of the TD04-13T Turbo.
i am well impressed with this. I wouldnt know where to start with the electronical stuff. Whats the advantages as i was going to go with blow through carbs with one idea i have.....
