Unhappy My baby vs truck

T.T, I was on the way out at my school parking lot and i saw a truck turned right signal. I thought it was make right turn in, so i decided to make left turn...BAM the truck was go straight. My front left fender ended up in the truck bumper

The truck was ok but my car was not, the body frame inside was tweak, bumper and fender were sunken, the plastic under the fender was touching my wheel as i make a turn.

Ouch, that sucks.

Never trust turn signals until they turn or pass you.

Damn that sucks man. This is why I always wait till the car is getting closer and has slowed down, cause there are people who forget that they have their turn signals on which makes other people think they're turning when they really aren't, but at least it's fixable

Can this be considered their fault? They are the one with the "false alarm".....the whole point of a signal is to show other drivers your future move. If you lie about your future move it should be your fault....correct?

it's their word against his. They can simply click the signal off as if he never had it on. Now, if it was still on and the cop observed it and saw that it was still on, then maybe it'd be the truckers fault

Here is the update, I made a claim to my insurance company and apparently both of the police and the insurance says it was my FAULT. That's B.S. If the truck didn't turn on the signal then i wouldn't have step on the gas.
As the cop showed up, both my car and the truck were parked in the parking lot. However, the trucker admit that he did turned the signal and he says he was gona turn right into the next intersection.

He pulled out in frot of him ONLY becuase there was a turning signal that mislead him.

This would have never happened if the truckers light wasn't on. That is how it's not his fault.

The intitial act that caused the accident was a turning signal left on by the trucker. The even following that is the Lude thinking he was turning, so he went. That was the second thing done wrong, not the first.

I would thin fault should be given to the person who caused the first/initial action in the accident, not the second or third action. Makes sense to me at least.

Well, today is my bad day and at least I'm still alive. I will head to body shop for an estimate and see how it goes.
The bad thing is the insurance is going rise and right now I'm paying $1,100 per year. If the rate is going up to $1,500 then i will have to sell the lude....T.T i can't afford that much.

NEVER trust anyone; you have to drive defensively and assume people aren't going to do the right thing. As a matter of fact, the same thing almost happened earlier this week to me. I was going to pull out onto a busy street and someone in the right lane had their blinker on so I assumed they were going to turn on the street I was on. I waited just to make sure and guess what happened...they kept on going straight. Now you know for next time.

i agree with pierce. the dude had his signal on. the person yielding to the signaller does not HAVE to wait for that person to start turning. the yielder (blackferrari) was under the assumption the truck knew wtf he wanted to do. however, the truck was driving, giving the wrong signals, and not doing what was implied that his truck would do.

it's completely the truck driver's fault. however, BF should have just waited, cus everyone (just joking) knows that this kind of bullshit happens. happened to me once, but i just let the lady who was yelling at her kid in the passenger's seat go, even though she signalled right, through the intersection. hooray!
