looking for 85-87 prelude seats (front)

looking for front seats, blue in color.... from what I understand they're pretty rare.... in good condition. Just thought I'd post this and give it a shot at least. Thanks!

Welcome to the boards mate... Good luck with those seats.. i had some bu they were worn to the shitter so I had mine re-trimmed. also, you'll struggle in the US because I'm pretty sure they came out in early JDM ludes.

Keep us updated if you get them.

Prelude of the Month
tough to find in general - very tough to find in great shape

I broke down and swapped 3rd gen seats into mine, almost an identical look, much easier to source

You can get EX/DX (carbed) ludes from the early period around 1983, 84 with red and black seats, and with blue and grey seats. The blue grey seats came with a blue interior in the stratosphere blue cars, and the red and black seats hda a jdm style black interior in red cars. This was a continuation of Honda's color matched interiors from the 1st gen Ludes but I believe was phased out. The Seats had a herringbone pattern as opposed to the vertical line pattern in the SIs.

I know these are different to what you are looking for, but maybe the blue ones would be suitable? I'd say just as hard to find unfortunately

pretty sure you are all forgetting my 85 dx. it has full blue interior. my front seats are nice and minty too. very very hard to find colour now. in canada you got the blue interior with blue exterior or white exterior.

so wich design are you after? the SI sseats with vertical stripes or the dx type with the cross-hatch design?

Thanks for the replies! I'm going to check on the 3rd gen seats... believe it or not there's a little old lady (pardon the cliche) that lives in my town and drives either an 86 or 87 blue (identical to mine) that apprears to be immaculate. Next time I see her I'll try and talk to her and see if she wants to sell it. Would love to have another one, mine is in great shape especially considering the mileage (350K+) looks good, gets me to/from work (100miles a day), and gets 34+mpg.

83 - 87 is 2nd gen too. 3rd gen is 88-91.

Good luck with your seats buddy, make sure you keep us updated on this project!

My father fell on my blue seat and broke it .
I went to the junk yard and all they had was a red SI with black seats .
I gave the guy my one good passenger blue seat and took the two black seats home and installed them . I actually thought the black seats in a blue car looked better . Later I found out that the blue Prelude was the only model of Prelude that came with seats the same color as the car in the USA . Red , black , and white 2nd gen Preludes all come with only black seats . Its sort of like today where if you want to have a somewhat unique dash board you get a green Prelude . If you put black seats in your blue Prelude then your Prelude and my old Prelude may be the only two cars in the US that have that combination . That would be an interesting thought would it not .
