just bought a alarm system, are the doors neg 3 way locks?

i bought a CRIME GAURD 750i5 keyless and security unit today. Its made by omega, a big company i take it. 2 way pager the works.
i need to acess the wire the controls the starter for the starter kill and the door switches/dome light and power door locks. so i need to figure out if honda uses the 3wire neg pulse or 3 wire pos pulse or 5 wire reversal rest at ground system. also is the domelight neg switched. if anyone knows that would help out alot.and any instal advice would be cool. i havent done one of these in years

the door lock wiring can be accessed in the driver door harness in the kick panel. the door locks are neg trigger and don't require a relay for the install. the output on the brain is or should be strong enough for the little bit thats required. at least with d.e.i. and code alarm (audiovox) it is. all of the wiring you need is located behind the underdash panel. the dome i cant remember on, its been a while for me, but use a meter and test on the ign harness so you don't have issues. the only relay you should use will be on the starter wire if its not built in the brain. are you doing remote start as well?

cool, no im not doing remote start. i actually took the unit back im going to wait and get a better quality one. i want a alrm that has a proximity sensor that actually works or at least will go off if the car is touched. for the $100 for the crime gaurd it has a cheap feeling 2way remote and only one and a replacement one would likely be 50 so im going to shop around

www.Compustar.com is all I will say. And they are local to you. So if anything goes bad, you can get it fixed right away. The best 2 way alarm system on the market.

I bought a Crimeguard prob about 8 years ago. It has worked great for me other than the piece of shit remotes. They have absolutely NO range to them. I have to be standing right next to the car for it to work. I even installed the auxillary antenna in an attempt to extend the range, but it didn't help.

Unless they have changed things recently, I'd go with something else. Clifford makes good stuff. Ive been very happy with the Clifford on my S2K.

Anyway, just a heads up.

the schematic manual (ETM) says the key switches and the internal switch all switch negative.

When you use the key to turn the left door lock actuator or right door key switch to the UNLOCK position, a path to ground is supplied to the control unit's unlock input. Voltage is applied to the door lock actuators: The polarity of the voltage applied to the actuators is now reversed and the doors unlock.

Both doors can be electrically locked and unlocked from the driver's power door lock switch. Both doors can also be unlocked mechanically from the outside with a key.

basically they are on-off-on switches with ground at both 'on's. that ground pulse tells the logic box (in the passenger door) what to do.

find the grn/wht and grn/red wires going into the passenger door, these are coming from the lock switch in the driver door. if you give the grn/wht wire ground, you'll lock the doors. if you give the grn/red wire ground, you'll unlock the doors.

remember that honda driver's doors won't change the status of their locks when they are open, unless you are holding the handle open too...if you have the driver door standing open while you are tapping the grn/x wires...the driver's door won't do anything but make a noise

the dome light is negative switched.

I have a Compustar when my brother in law owned a shop in Kent Desmoines.

Best money I spent, and the unit is 5 years old and still going strong.

I recommend it. I am wired for remote start, but since I did the swap to 5 speed, I need to redo a couple of things and hook up the proper coil wire.

Other than that the alarm is working great!

Edit:

You can also get a signal from the tach wire or an injector wire too if need be.
