RIP SPD Officer Brenton

I know a few of you are in law enforcement and thought you might like to read about what's been happening in Seattle for the last few days.

A FTO was sitting in his patrol car with a training officer reviewing a traffic stop when a car pulled up and opened fire on the officers. FTO Brenton was shot and killed. Basically assassinated, leaving behind a wife and two young kids.

His memorial service was today and it was amazing to watch. Then there was breaking news early this evening reporting a man was approached by Seattle Detectives working on a tip. He fled and produced a weapon when cornered. He was shot in the head and is in critical condition in surgery right now.

I have read up and heard the whole story, horrible story for sure. R.I.P. Officer!

These are the stories I hate to hear since I'm heading into the field within the next year.

I'll be there too. Not in the next year, but at some point in the foreseeable future.

Yep. About a week before some police vehicles were firebombed in a parking lot overnight and some notes were left threatening SPD and I heard there were also fliers about police brutality.

I really hope the people protesting police brutality and the people who did this aren't connected. I'm also against the excessive force we've seen in the last few years but you don't do something like this to prove a point.

So far the guy is alive and in serious condition.

In his apartment police found 2 rifles, including a military assault rifle and bomb making materials. They're calling him a "domestic terrorist," and I agree.

He also applied to work at SPD and was rejected.
